Senate Supports 2nd Amendment Rights During Emergencies
A vote of 84-16 showed bi-partisan support for an amendment to federal legislation that would prohibit the use of Homeland Security appropriations for the confiscation of lawfully possessed firearms during an emergency or major disaster.
The issue came to the forefront when such confiscations did occur in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the U.S. Senate has addressed such future practices through an amendment to the Homeland Security appropriations bill, sponsored by Sen. David Vitter (R-La.).
In an article in the Hawaii Reporter, Chris W. Cox, NRA-ILA executive director, stresses the importance of this provision being included in the final version of HR 5441 that emerges from the House and
Senate later this year.

Sounds like the senate finally has some sense. I will bet that any of us could name most of the 16 that voted against the bill.

Yes , it is Chris . I am hoping to hear from some of our resident " liberal " gun owners on the issue , perhaps they can shed some light on why this band of 16 feel that our personal property and safety are up for confiscation at the whims of fema LOL . oO( I wont hold my breath waiting on any understandable explanation thou . )

This is just as much about the 4th Amendment as the second. These 16 support tossing the Bill of Rights aside in the event of an "emergency" and permitting the government to enter peoples' homes without warrant or probably cause and seize property.
To tops that off, we know from NO that some governmental agencies will lie about it an claim they have no seized property, only coming clean when an imminent Contempt Hearing forces their hand.
Despite Hillary's silence on her website about gun control, the truth is plain - she supports trampling the Constitutional rights of the masses on a whim.
