VA AG affirms legality of carrying for self defense in church

Cuccinelli concludes guns are legal in church | HamptonRoads.com | PilotOnline.com

Responding to a request from Del. Mark Cole, R-Spotsylvania County for an interpretation of that law, Cuccinelli wrote that "carrying a weapon for personal protection constitutes a good and sufficient reason under the statute to carry a weapon into a place of worship while a meeting for religious purposes is being held there."

That's great! Churches should be no different than any other place where crime can happen.

Churches should be no different than any other private business...carry prohibited only by the business...not by a state statute.

Cole argues that the current law is poorly written and vague, raising questions about whether if can be enforced.

It's about time someone brings some definition to "good and sufficient reason." I've often thought for a long time that the protection of my family should be plenty good and sufficient reason...that's the reason I carry everywhere else.

Looks like I'll be descretely packing hence forth.

Its good to see some politicians with some common sense.

Hopefully it will turn into a nationwide epidemic.

Even as we speak, the selfless medical professionals at CDC and WHO are frantically seeking a vaccine to curtail this horrible disease.
