On May 29, 2011, the Baltimore Police Criminal Intelligence Section issued an "Intelligence Bulletin" warning officers about persons displaying the 2nd Amendment decal pictured here. The bulletin contains the following caption in bold red letters:

"....while the individual who is displaying the symbol may not be armed, the presence of the symbol provides an early warning indicator that you MAY be about to encounter an armed individual."

It apparently never occurred to the Intelligence Section that perhaps we the people could use a warning that the presence of a badge provides an early warning that we are about to encounter an armed individual. While this may seem a bit sarcastic, it is certainly not unfair for Maryland citizens to have reason for concern when they are approached by an officer. This is especially true when the officers are overly tense because they have been warned that a citizen with a decal or patch MAY be armed.

Lets not forget that NRA decal, people that exercise their rights under the Constitution are a threat to people that would love to tell you they are sworn to uphold the constitution until they believe theres certain parts that don't apply to them

Gun Hating Mayors

Isn't Balitmore's Mayor meeting with New York's Mayor to develop new gun laws?

Is Criminal Intelligence Section an OxyMoron?

As a note, I don't advertise I'm carring with bumper stickers and/or decals. I do wear T-shirts with support messages when going to an event. I do post a sign at my front door that states, "Nothing within this house is worth your life!"

Fav T-Shirt: Soldier's Memorial Shirt

This shirt features the battlefield memorial, known by many, on the front and a poem by Father Dennis O'Brien, on the back:

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

:yup:

Guantes,

I believe you are giving those in LE, and politics in Maryland too much credit to understand the logic you have stated.

Dumbcluck, socialist nincompoops.

I'm thinking that I wouldn't want to use this type of 'flag' on my vehicle.

Maybe they'd find reason to issue a warning if you just had a 'U.S. Constitution' decal? - This guy MAY know his rights & is therefore a threat until otherwise determined -

That is because the schools taught us to think. That is, sadly, not the case anymore. The young guns coming out of the public education system are as likely as not to have thought this through enough to consider all stops potentially armed. It is a sad state of affairs.

As a native Marylander all I can say is the citizens of the state get just what they continue to vote into office. When I go to visit my son and his family in Bowie I am concerned that even carrying under HB-218 I could have a problem if encountering LEO's in that state.

Even as a citizen, I consider anyone I meet as potentially armed and skilled in H2H. If I know them, the odds are we're both armed and skilled. If they have a badge, it's open to conjecture.

If you need your car's upholstery torn apart, try crossing into Canada with an NRA sticker in your window.

I was thinking the same thing.

I have 1 more year til my youngest graduates HS, I've told all my kids..."Move the hell of of Maryland".
I already has to Florida, I know the 2 still living with me are going when I do. Not sure about the 4th tho..

I guess a burrito decal on the rear bumper is a warning that approaching this vehicle an officer could be overcome with skillfully deployed chemical/biological air dispersed agent

These stupid type of bulletins come out all the time for a lot of different subject matters. Its nothing new. Its just some do gooder thinking up stupid ideas and thoughts to make themselves feel like they actually do something worth while.

Here's the real deal on Maryland and the Second Amendment (although I feel sure thee is more to the story here):

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...-pit-bull-in-md/2011/06/06/AGp7cBKH_blog.html

A man shot and killed a pit bull in Severn Sunday after the dog and the man’s pit bull began fighting, according to Anne Arundel County police.

...

Police are also investigating whether the father was properly licensed to carry the firearm.

Unless I missed something during a comercial, it sounds to me like the wrong dog owner shot the wrong dog. His was the one off the leash and initiated the attack and he shot the dog that was leashed??? Hmmmm

I agree with "gigamortis" just avoid states like Maryland, Illinois, Wisconsin, and California, if I can't defend my life, then they can't have my money...not for gas, or food, or products, or merchandise, or especially taxes. I refuse to support stupidity!

^^^^^^^^WELL Kinda^^^^^^^^^^^
Some kids were walking a pit, unleashed, and they came across a lady and girl, walking another pit, which WAS leashed.
The dogs began to fight, one boy runs home, tells his dad, and the dad comes running up and shoots the ladys LEASHED pit.

Crazy, but sounds like the city and the lady will take legal action against trigger happy pappy.

^^^^^^^^^^I agree with your comment^^^^^^^^^

And would also submit Canada and Mexico as well.

Not the best article for giving all the information . It does not say if the shooter was on his own property and I am still confused about which dog he owned. Again the dogs were fighting from the articles account and no dog was attacking a human.

We tend to be straying from the original OP's subject matter.

No it did not ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

indicate in the article that any dog was attacking a person.

I don't understand why the moron did not subdue and take control of his own animal.

I would be willing to wager, a Judge in Maryland will be asking him that very same question shortly.

There was an incident a year or so ago when an off-duty federal police officer (Pentagon?) shot a dog at a dog park. I seem to recall he was investigated/prosecuted because he was not authorized to carry off-duty, thus he was not authorized to be carrying in the state of Maryland.

It is, quite simply, a very gun unfriendly state.

He received two Probation Before Judgment diversions for his needless and unjustified shooting of a dog in the dog park. In other words, nothing happened to him.

Grey man...

No NRA stickers. No 2A pins. No Glock hats. No Ruger shirts. Regular cargo pants...not the 5.11 variety.

Engage cloaking device...nothing to see here...move along...

Grey man
