It's not as much about covering MORE states but whether a permit covers more states that you may actually travel to!
Check out this carry map, better than the handgunlaw one

I have my Minnesota carry permit and just moved to Wisconsin. I can keep my permit as it stands with change of address notification and as Wisconsin is just weeks away from passing its own carry law Iím waiting to take the necessary renewal training till after that. My plan is to keep Minnesota also get a Wisconsin as I live here now. I can also add either Florida or Utah or both for an up charge of course. Checking handgunlaw.us it seems to make no sense to get both Florida and Utah. In fact Florida covers another state or two more then Utah does. Can you think of any good reason to have both??
If this is posted in the wrong place please move. Thanks.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.
If you travel to FL, your UT permit won't cover you!
That's just one example. As Snatale42 says, you should chose the one that gives you states you are or might travel to. Don't base your decision strictly on #s.
