I thought perhaps from what I've been reading in the news lately regarding CC in Wisconsin that maybe things were getting better...but obviously not. Wisconsin is still suffering from a "terminal" case of Illinios-itis. PACK UP AND RUN, leave, don't look back...move to a FREE State...hurry

Well, he can pass that law. However, state law trumps local laws in Wisconsin so it will become invalidated as soon as the CC law goes live, or never if the CC law goes into effect first. At worst, someone will file a lawsuit and have it struck down eventually. In no way will it become permanent unless the CC law gets vetoed.

That, and Wisconsin permits OC now with few restrictions. That law could also be used to declare anything passed null and void too.

It's the liberal stupidity in the two big crime ridden cities of my semi-fair state.

You are aware that the Madison PD is on record stating that they will not abide by WI law regarding OC. They will bust you even though what you are doing is legal.

The Milwaukee PD policy is to pronate anyone OCing, even though the AG sent a memo to all LE that OC is legal. When the new law takes effect, things will straighten out. Already bully cities, like Madison, have had their insurance carriers make payouts for OC misunderstandings.

Then you get to after the city. You don't even have to spend a lot of time in court now, if any. Apparently the insurance carrier is now just paying the people illegally arrested some sum of money. Causing the premiums to increase, which increases the tax burden on the entire citizenry. A circular action of stupidity.

That's why cops don't care when they knowingly violate the law like that. They aren't personally liable to pay damages.

Odds are he probably hasn't even read the bill. So he wouldn't even know about the preemption clause. Unless he just doesn't care about wasting tax dollars on the lawsuits that will pop up.
