Congrats! Well, I guess that leaves Illinois out there on the branch all by themselves!
Congrats WI!:congrats:
I do have one questions though...banned within 1,000 feet of a school? Wouldn't you say that's a big problem?
You might need more info on that part of the law...I'm just sayin'...:yup:
Maybe the plan for the govenor of the great state of Wisconsin is entice a large number of (law abiding) citizens to come live in Wisconsin where they can legally protect themselve. Maybe something like:
Come live in Wisconsin: Where you can actually defend yourself legally against murderous thugs.
Wisconsin: Land of the Green Bay Packers, Chesse and 9mm?
Welcome to Wisconsin: It isn't Illinois!
Just a thought.
Good for WI! Now the question is what OOS permits will they honor?

That sounds great! Congrats! :congrats:
This is just one more reason so love Govenor Scott Walker.
When will it go into effect? I'm planning on going to Door County the end of July.
Can you point out that line please? What I see in the bill is:
In the released FAQ it they will recognize any state permit that required a background check to obtain it.Quote:
(18) RECIPROCITY AGREEMENTS. The department may
enter into reciprocity agreements with other states as to
matters relating to licenses or other authorization to carry
concealed weapons.
ETA: Edited for clarity.
There will be no OOS licenses issued. Only residents will be able to get CC permits in Wisconsin.
This is the memorandum published explaining what the bill does, or does not, do.
There has been a lot of confusion in the news about this. You are not allowed to carry within 1,000ft of a school without a permit (to mirror the federal law). With the permit, they changed it to only restricting it to school grounds. The 1,000ft restriction will only apply to individuals open carrying without a permit.
