[sarcasm on:]Oh, so being allowed to carry in the worst of places at the worst of times is the problem.. phew.. we have it identified. We should only be allowed to carry in the best of places at the best of times. [sarcasm off]

Does he not realize that other states have these laws (and even more lax laws) all over the country and there are not mass deaths of police officers or citizens? Now that he's said it publicly however pride will more than likely keep him from ever changing his stance.

I have a feeling the emails and phone calls are just starting for Mr Schulman.

He is worried those "citizens" likely to be killed by law abiding people CCWing would be a key voter base for him.

Amazing!!!! This guy is completely clueless! But then again, Canton is a small city and I would be willing to bet he is a liberal democrat. Don't know if anyone noticed, but he mentioned carrying guns in SCHOOLS, which is illegal, and bars, which is still illegal until the end of September, so he isn't even up on the law. Just a clueless liberal tool demonstrating his ignorance for all the world to hear!

He doesn't respond to the incident, he just boasts his ignorance on gun laws.

Yeah.. This guy is "brilliant". Nothing he says makes any sense at all. He says people want to be protected, and by taking away their means of protection, that they would be better protected?

I just can't bring myself to get angry over this guy's blathering about...what? The audacity of this particular citizen to be in his (the councilman's) town at 1:30am, hanging with prostitutes & druggies, & legally...carrying...a firearm?!?

The councilman's admonishment is that this type of thing will happen in cities across America where citizens are allowed to carry a firearm. This Terry stop certainly didn't happen because the citizen had a ccw & a firearm. It was related to the town's problem with prostitution & drugs.

His rant is a complete fail, as it does not even focus on an actual issue, much less the issue.

    He'll appreciate that!

I'm thinking of giving him a call just to say, "Don't worry. I won't come to your town!"
