When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

    From the link:

"Before America can enact significant policies to reduce gun violence we must challenge the belief that our citizens are safe in a country flooded with deadly guns; from junk handguns and cop-killing assault weapons to deadly sniper rifles and weapons designed for the battlefield. We have to engage in a dialog about whether Americans can be truly free when gun violence terrorizes our communities, destroys our families, and plagues our nation."

just like liberalism - it's a failed twisted logic that thinks taking guns away from honest citizens will also keep guns away from criminals. They seem to think banning guns will keep a criminal from getting one. Stupid libtards...

Oh my <sigh> - once more nievity and gut emotion reign supreme

If any of these ''people'' can come up with a good plan to disarm BG's - I wanna hear it.

"deadly" - ''assault'' - ''sniper'' - ''cop-killing'' .............. yep, seems they have the usual buzz words in place

4 minutes.. As long as I could take on that site and a couple of the ones they link too before I got a headache.

I guess that is the whole basis of debate, has to be another side.

Wow, Osama bought them in the 80's...Wasn't that the time of the U.S.S.R.'s campaign in Afghanistan? I wonder who sold them to him?

    Idiots.

Problem is, though, that they're dangerous because sometimes people listen to them.

How do we keep the BG's from getting guns? Or knives? Or clubs? Or stop them from ganging up on innocent people? Or stop BG's who are bigger than innocent people from beating them up?

Until those days arrive, weapons MUST remain available to the law abiding.

    jdlv4_0,

Yeah, we sold them to the Afghanistan. We sold also sold to them: Stingers, 12.5mm machine guns, mortars, and Enfield rifles, amongst other things.

    I said

The Weapon was used in a foreign country, and against a common enemy. Namely the U.S.S.R.

    To paraphrase James D. Wright:

Robbery and murder are against the law, yet robbers still rob, and murderers still murder. One has the right to ask what law anyone can write which will convince those who have already decided to break laws against robbery and murder to obey its prohibitions on possessing firearms?

If banning guns is the answer, then we should make street drugs illegal.

Who's with me, lets petition to get Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin, and all their new flavors banned in the USA.

    Okay, sarcasm off.

But I think you get my point.

Just yesterday we were talking about how dangerous concealed weapons are, and now we hear some great news from Columbus, Nebraska: the city has chosen to keep its citizens safe and keep concealed weapons out.
A quote from their "gunguys.com" link. I started to feel ill and had to give up. Of course they can't/don't offer any specific example of where a legally carried concealed weapon was dangerous. But, of course, we know they would be hard pressed to find any.

As Charlie Brown would say "Blech!"

Sorry to those of you in Columbus.
