    Lightbulb House Considers Expanding Gun-Carry Laws

    WASHINGTON, DC
    Monday, November 14, 2011

    The House Rules Committee debates legislation allowing lawful gun owners to carry concealed weapons in other states. The legislation, titled the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011,” would allow a person with a permit to carry a concealed handgun across state lines, even if a state prohibits it.

    The legislation, which is expected to be debated in the full House this week, is co-sponsored by Reps. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) and Heath Shuler (D-NC). The Rules Committee sets the terms of the debate in the House.

    If it's exactly like your driver's license is honored by other States, that would be great. If they add a lot of restrictions, registrations, etc., that's bad.

    H.R. 822 DOES NOT:

    Create a federal licensing or registration system;
    Establish a minimum federal standard for the carry permit;
    Involve the federal bureaucracy in setting standards for carry permit;
    Destroy permitless carry systems such as those in Arizona, Alaska, Vermont and Wyoming.

    Haven't we flogged this deceased member of the equine family enough yet?

    It also does not allow you to carry in IL, only stated that allow CC.

    Got a GREAT idea. How about the other 49 states not recognizing Illinois drivers licenses? Darn so easy so perfect. (well maybe not but nice thought)
    tkruf and WHEC724 like this.
    I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

    Hey, I really think you are onto something there. Great idea! Then let King Richard cross the state line while driving.
