Will you let them take them?
With all the talk of possible riots and different ways the government might try to take our guns, the big discussion at work has been, 'Would you give up your guns when the official knock comes at the door?'
I'm talking about a real deal total ban - do you fight, give-up or hide?
Or, do you think there'd be another American Revolution when we saw the 'writing on the wall'?
If there was no revolution, I think I'd either hide or fight...

I just did an internet search on "the government wants to monitor user groups" and the page locked up, then my computer started acting all weird.

When you've had enough and can't take it any more, run outside with your rifle. If no one else is there, it's too early.

How about we avoid this by getting people elected who treasure our Rights and Freedoms (like the second) as much as we do. Time to fight stupid with voting power.
I have seen this posed on other sites. All I can say is that my ancestors gave me this Country with my Freedoms and Rights...I plan to hand it off to my grandchildren the same.

My buddy, an ex-British citizen, lived through this in the 90's. He owned many firearms. He and all of the other armed citizens were ordered to bring their guns to the local constabulary where they turned them over. He went on to say that the local police divided the citizen-owned guns into 2 catgories, the ones they were going to destroy and the ones they were going to keep for themselves...ugh. They were given a pittance for each firearm, similar to amount given in those (useless) buy-back programs that are held in metropolitan cities. He recalled it as being a surreal experience.
BTW, he's now a naturalized US citizen who recently got his CPL.

You know that many of those firearms were OURS! The Brits begged Americans to send them guns and ammo when they thought the Nazis would be paying them a visit.
Americans sent them tons and tons of firearms.

This is why we have to resist efforts to create a firearms registry. When the government jumps the shark and decides to forcibly disarm the citizenry, if they know who has got what, it will be much easier to confiscate the firearms - they'll just arrest you outside your home and then search your house and torture you to reveal the location of anything hidden - they know you've got it because of the registry.
If they don't know who has got what, it becomes an enormous task. I'd hate to be the LEO who is going door to door to confiscate firearms.
Of course liberals (and big government 'conservatives') won't understand why we make such a big stink out of gun registry proposals. These people cannot begin to fathom that the government that they have nurtured into the leviathan it is today will someday turn on them.

Depends on what the definition of "let" is.

I tried to, and obviously failed very badly, to respond above (the above post to this post - is that redundant?). ROGER! Got it. Thanks.
