CA Assembly Passes Bill to Ban the Carry of Rifles (unloaded) anywhere

For those of you that do not know, much as we just lost OC in CA for hand guns, we are about to also lose OC for Rifles/Long guns in CA.

This will vastly increase the 'extra' requirements for even getting a firearm to the car to transport to a legimit (as the Police will define) shooting event/reason......

I'm not BLAMINING any 'one specific group' on helping the Politicians create a Crisis over this............................

Read the justification they use. Scare the people........

I am truly sorry to read this about California, another step in the wrong direction.

The wrong folks in power will eventually lead to gun confiscation, and John Doe citizen voter shares in that responsibility.

Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

Aren't there enough people who CARE about the erosion of civil rights in California???

Try nibbling away some social welfare programs, and not only would there likely be a groundswell of opposition, Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt and George Clooney would probably go on network TV to whine about how horrible it is. But preserving basic, Constitutional freedoms I guess falls under the radar.

As CA cities come under increasing financial duress and cut back on their police forces, CA residents will rue their support for these politicians.

So if you are going to carry the rifle to the outskirts of town to do some shooting you have to conceal it? Is that legal?

Well, based on the second sentence it would appear that you could legitimately blame one group of people. FWIW, these are the legislators the people of California voted in. Either they are paying that little attention or there are enough that are ignorant enough to believe this is right.

This is possible the most ignorant comment in the article. I really did not make it much passed this gem in intelligence.

"Portantino said the appearance of gun-wielding people in public can escalate tensions and spark tragedy.

"We in this chamber have the ability to prevent that tragedy," he said."

Really? Laws prevent crime? How's that working so far?

The majority of the people in California keeps voting these socialist in power....only thing to do is get out while you still can....
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.

Problem being, that they move away from Cali because of some of the BS laws, then decide that the state that they just moved to is way to radical, and want some of those laws they had in Cali. And so the progression into their idea of reform starts.

What happens in Cali, will eventually happen across the US. Seems to follow the jet stream across the country.

The only way to stem the tide of stupidity is to actually go back to what JFK asked. "Ask not what the country can do for you, ask what can you do for your country."

The simple truth behind that statement will always hold true. As a nation we need to stop asking what will be done "for" us, and start doing things for ourselves as a whole. Common sense keeps being tossed out.

The majority of the people in California keeps voting these socialist in power..

The precedent was set in 1967 when a scared CA assembly passed the putrid Mulford Act outlawing the carry of loaded guns in public. Scared CA governor Ronald Reagan signed the bill into law. The proposed law had been waiting in the wings for years. Finally, fear of the the Black Panthers energized the legislature and Reagan into action.
