"A first rate man with a third rate gun is far better than the other way around". The gun is a tool, you are the craftsman that makes it work. There are those who say "if I had to do it, I could" yet they never go out and train to do it. (WETSU)
They will figure something out. Maybe they can start open carrying frying pans. Then there wonderful government will outlaw that. Just like we talked about, I feel sorry for those OCers that actually carry for self defense. They are the ones that are hurt by this.....

More California Gun Control: Bill to Ban Open Carry of Rifles & Shotguns
My comment - what did you expect after the OC crowd started showing up to Walmart and Kmart with Shotguns slung over the sholder? There were smarter ways to fight this battle of rights, instead of just poking the eye of the giant.
Be sure to check out Cal Guns on the current information on this issue.

[Excerpt]
The California state assembly approved Anthony Portantino's bill that would make it illegal to openly carry unloaded shotguns and rifles on the streets. So, more gun control laws in California. Who here is surprised? Anyone? Anyone?
An earlier bill spearheaded by Portantino banned the open carry of handguns. This new bill is just finishing what he started.
There is a faint glimmer of hope, however, as the bill has not yet been made a law; an approval by the State Assembly is just one step in the legislative process...........................................

This is a good example of the actions of a few idiots reflecting badly on everyone who carries. These are extremist nut jobs sticking it in the faces of those who make the rules, and then complaining about it when they change them.GEE,I wonder why their doing that.Morons.![]()
This is idiocy at its finest. Yep, CA politicians are scared of guns again: When the CA legislature gets scared of guns they pass more gun control. The ban on carry of unloaded guns in public is an extension of the Mulford Act of 1967. In 1967 the CA legislature and governor Ronald Reagan were scared of the Black Panthers: They banned the open carry of loaded weapons.
I'm shocked....
just kidding.
I just got back from vacationing in San Diego and Los Angeles. I left the gun at home, even though I could have carried as a retired LEO. Interesting places, but definitely one big freak show. Californians really need to stand up for their CCW rights.
"Clearly that's a YOU problem not a ME problem."
So, instead of blaming the liberaltards who make up the voting majority of Kommifornicate, and the liberaltards who they vote for, you blame the people who are trying to exercise a right in the only manner left to them by law? In case you were unaware, getting a CCP is difficult in CA. Not impossible, but difficult. Open carry was a legal solution to that, so a small group of people used it as their only option to be armed in public. As Sig 210 pointed out, everyone's conservative Republican hero, Ronald Reagan, was responsible for making it illegal to carry a loaded gun in public.
When are we giving California back to Mexico ? Anyone set a date yet ?
The state of more gangs and serial murderers in the USA, is worried about law-abiding citizens who want to protect themselves. Well, they do keep electing people like Pelosi and Boxer, so what can you say ?

Chief Justice John Roberts : "I don't see how you can read Heller and not take away from it the notion that the Second Amendment...was extremely important to the framers in their view of what liberty meant."
I say get out while u can! The voter poll is too left and it's not changing anytime soon....Just like Chicago, DC, NYC, Durham and Cary NC, have I left out any else?
Some people will start trouble and then try to make it look like its your fault....

First, I agree with Dumbledork. The politicians and gun grabbers make more stupid laws, so you blame the people trying to work within the laws they are given to be able to protect themselves? That doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Second, nobody else has said it, so I will throw this out there; this might actually be a good thing in the long run. The courts have upheld the effective ban ofCCW in CA because they said OC was still legal, therefore you still had 2A rights. With this completing the ban on OC, they can revisit the courts and try to force them to rule CA laws unconstitutional. It may be a long shot, but it's something.
Walk softly ...
If no OC how do you conceal one? Carry a golf bag?

If all firearms manufacturers would step up and do as Barrett did and refuse to sell to the state of Commifornia,I think they would eventually get the message, they've already proved that they don't care what the voters say!
The citizens of California need to stop electing liberty hating politicians to office. And in the case of national offices, the rest of us would thank them.
