I remember when Kennesaw,Georgia passed a law that mandated its citzenship to keep a gun in the house. Of course, they didnt enforce it but the Liberals threw the godawfullest dog squallin racket that was ever was heard around the nation.

As you can see by the "likes" I likes this idea. If they can use taxes to oppress us....they can use taxes to protect us by making sure we are all able to defend ourselves. Think of the fear it would strike in criminals hearts to know that the chances are great that any home the decide to break into will have a loaded weapon behind the door. Any person they confront have a greater chance of protecting themselves. I know it won't happen, but a girl can dream....can't she?

I posted similar idea on another forum yesterday. And I have a catchy name for it.

Let's push for the Citizens' Protection and Violence Reduction Act of 2013.

It shall require every legal resident over the age of 18, who is not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm, to own a gun of at least .38 caliber in pistol or .223 in rifle or a shotgun, and sufficient ammunition to train and defend him or herself. Anyone failing to be so equipped within one year of enactment will be subject to a $1000 tax, annually, until so equipped.

SCOTUS said it's OK to tax into compliance.

To heck with TSA involvement, make ATF do their job and make sure everyone (not just Mexican cartel members) has a good firearm. Heck, they could pass out some alcohol while they're at it.

They don't in Switzerland where everyone not only owns a gun, but is trained to use it. Some theft occurs, but not to the same extent here in the US.
