Have you contacted your US Senators about the UN Small Arms Treaty?

Yes, an FFL has to surrender the 4473's to the Feds but that does not concern me. What do you think a NICS check is? All transactions are recorded. Why do you think you can record a "transaction" number?

Exactly, just because a law was created to prevent gun registration does not mean the the Government will not attempt to do it anyway. They get around this prohibition against registration by claiming that it is not registration.

Where do you stand on the treaty?

I am vehemently opposed to the U.S. signing any UN Treaty that would regulate small arms. I believe this is a backdoor way to chip away at every law abiding citizen’s right to keep and bear arms. I continue to be actively involved with some of my colleagues in gathering information and educating other Senators and the general public to prove that this treaty is unnecessary and unconstitutional.
Besides signing onto two letters circulated by Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) to both President Obama and Secretary Clinton expressing overwhelming opposition to such a treaty, I am also a cosponsor of S.2205, the “Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012,” which prohibits funding to negotiate a UN Arms Trade Treaty that restricts the Second Amendment rights of United States citizens. What we have here is a proposed international treaty that would regulate the sales of military weaponry world wide. We are talking military weaponry=apples; as opposed to sporting and self defense firearms=oranges. i have trained folks in foreign countries on weaponry purchased through US military sales. The "end user" of military weaponry is the country that purchased the weaponry. Many US sales of military weaponry to foreign countries have strings attached in the form of "end user" agreements. Some "end user" agreements stipulate the purchasing country may not sell the weaponry to a third country. Some "end user" agreements even stipulate how the packaging of the weaponry must be destroyed.

That was probably waste of bandwidth. Sherrod Brown is about as anti-gun as it gets. Sherrod Brown on the Issues

I think this might be blown out of proportion. The NRA is using it to drum up money. They have been sending all kinds of ridiculous sky is falling letters for the last year. It is hard to take them seriously anymore. I let my membership lapse. I frankly think they are afraid to win. They got so used to fighting rights battles, they don't know what to do anymore now that things are actually going our way. Acting like a bunch of conspiracy crazed lunatics doesn't seem time a good way for them to go. When they return focus to education and positive advocacy and I'll come back.
