I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.
I was hoping this report was based on some new and reliable study. While Lott's work is credible in concept, I tend to think his number is inflated. 2M defensive uses yearly is almost 5500 a DAY.
The only common sense gun legislation was written about 226 years ago.
I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
If we have to prove that guns have a legitimate uses in order to prevent the Government from taking them is that not proof that the Constitution is meaningless?
I hate these statictics. What qualifies as SD use: Simple carry? Unholstered in defense? BG defending himself against another BG? (Even BGs are allowed legitmate SD.) Too many stats are concocted or miscontrued to lean one way or another.

What lethal force were all those folks responding to?
