Larry Bodine: Guns in America
What's interesting is that they don't separate/categorize the gun deaths. How many were GG's shooting BG's?

Why do they mess around with these silly little charts. Let's see them put the same chart up from Germany, WWII of those that were killed who DIDN'T have guns.
Vietnam Vets, WELCOME HOME
Crossman 760 BB/Pellet, Daisy Red Ryder, Crossman Wrist Rocket, 14 Steak Knives, 3 Fillet Knives, Rolling Pin-14", Various Hunting Knives, 2 Baseball Bats, 3 Big Dogs and a big American Flag flying in the yard. I have no firearms; Try the next house.
Like most people who make charts, they put a lot of so called data up there but it really doesn't tell a story.
What's with the 4 out of 10/ 6 out of 10 listings, that have 20 states listed in each? I don't see the message.
50 so called rampage killings in 25 years. That's 2 a year. 377 dead, that's an average of 15 a year. A bare blip in the overall number of firearms deaths.
Numbers of dealers, numbers of gun show sales? So what. It only takes one gun in most cases for these tragedies.
And how many were BGs shooting other BGs?How many were GG's shooting BG's?
Just my 2 cents.
How about a chart showing how most all such events occur in unarmed victim zones? What would that pie chart look like? Could you see the slice that occurs where victims aren't forced to be disarmed?

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.
I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
The chart is fluent, non sequitur jibberish.

The writer of the article likes to talk about "bloodbaths" and "massacres." Sure if you are talking what happened in Colorado and Wisconsin I would agree. But you can't take his little handy chart and lump all "gun deaths" as "bloodbaths" and "massacres." Very misleading Larry Bodine. I would guess the majority of those "gun deaths" are accidental and suicides. Throw in "gun deaths" they probably counted justifiable shootings by police officers to pad the numbers. These instances would not be "bloodbaths and massacres."
The only things I find interesting about this chart is that they don't list Utah in the top 10 least restrictive states and they do list Florida in the top 10 most restrictive states. According to the Brady's list, Utah is tied with Arizona and Alaska for the least restrictive (with 0 points), and Florida is not far behind (with 3 points)...... What's up with that?

Once I figured out just what that chart was trying to say, I couldn't stop laughing!

11 out of 10 people support these statistics 102%
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

Meanwhile, in Texas and North, and the NorthWest, no one was killed for any reason.
I should make a chart of "Saint Barney the Dinosaur" sightings. Be about as useful.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.
First of all, his statistics aren't even close to being correct (big surprise). Here is the rank by state (and district since D.C. needs to be included) of the top ten states for firearms murders per 100,000 population (source, FBI crime statistics):
(apologize for spacing)
Rank State or District Firearm Murder per 100,000
1 D.C. 16
2 Louisiana 7.75
3 Missouri 5.34
4 Maryland 5.11
5 South Carolina 4.5
6 Delaware 4.26
7 Michigan 4.16
8 Mississippi 4.05
9 Georgia 3.79
10 Pennsylvania 3.62
Here are the bottom 10:
51 Vermont 0.32
50 New Hampshire 0.38
49 Hawaii 0.54
48 North Dakota 0.61
47 Iowa 0.69
46 Idaho 0.77
45 Utah 0.78
44 Maine 0.84
43 Wyoming 0.91
42 Oregon 0.93
That chart is too flashy to say the least. Those top ten sections are a little confusing as well. Had it not been made to appeal to the eye a lot more information could have been included.
Any section that sites sources or any other supporting document?
'Scary chart' to scare us all...
