Im new here, having trouble starting a new post but somewhat relevant here. I used to be a medical marijuana patient but no longer am. Been clean for 6 months and card has been expired. Can i get my ccw? Or am i banned for life now?

It makes no sense no matter how you state it, how can anyone be held accountable of a mistameoner charge when you were a kid ?? Especially marijuana, the only substance to my knowledge that doesnt affect you like no other drugs including alcohol. With that being said we are all born young and dumn and we go learning as we get older. I know that we all know this including the judge and state attorney's, this is one of many cases where the law shows no common sense nor average intelegence period.
I think marijuana should be treated exactly the same as alcohol in regards to firearms ownership, possession, legality, etc.
I think the case could be easily made that a drunk with a gun is FAR more dangerous than someone high on weed. Both situations obviously being not good.

i believe that given a bad situation, a drunk would be less inhibited and let rage take over pulling his gun out and making a mess of his life. the guy high on weed would most likely say, "f**k this! i gotta gun on me. lets get out of here. i don't want trouble. just oreo's!". no harm done. no one died. and the drunk was able to go home and beat his girlfriend.
