BTW: The ban on guns in national parks happened on the watch of the "Gunowners Champion" Ronald Reagan.
Not that I imagine that such a statement would be ratified. Trouble is, it's no single element that's up for ratification. It's the whole enchilada. Those who believe the whole thing would be tossed over one simple element would do well to remember that little "credit card" related piece of legislation that was signed by the big dog despite the little wrinkle about carry in national parks.

It's utterly logical to voice opinions to our elected hirelings ahead of time, before any finalization, and way before any push toward ratification. Fail to do that, then it's entirely possible that such people would read silence as being license to eviscerate liberty in any such documents. It's not about "excitement." It's about ensuring destruction of liberty isn't seen by anyone as a viable concept in any such discussions, negotiations or ratification. Viewed another way, the meek (and the silent) get steamrolled.

So, those of you who are saying, "that will never happen" better think again. It could most definitely happen.
