S.F. gun ordinances are upheld
Updated 10:25 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2012
........San Francisco's gun-storage ordinance "requires you to sleep with your gun in a holster if you want to have it ready for self-defense in the middle of the night," Michel said. "We respectfully disagree that it's a minimal burden."
City Attorney Dennis Herrera said the ruling "affirms our position that San Francisco's gun laws protect public safety in a manner that's reasonable and constitutional."
My Comments: Politicians in SF use the Constitution like we used to use the Sears Catalog in the out house.......
C.D. Michel, a lawyer for the gun owners, said the ruling would be appealed to the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals (9th Circus Court of Clowns), which is preparing to hear separate challenges next week to California's licensing requirements for carrying handguns in public.

So you have to have your pistol in a holster overnight? After reading the article it says they upheld an ordinance that says your guns have to be locked up while at home and an ordinance prohibiting the use of effective ammunition (hollow points, frangible, etc). So I suppose that means if you manage to get your weapon unlocked in the middle of night you can shoot through people, walls, windows, and more people.

I love the food, the wine and the sights of SF, but living there is nuts.

San Francisco is the city that VOTED to ban handguns a few years ago. (the law was overturned by the courts - i don't remember on what grounds.)
i grew up there, and recently had to move back for a few years. i was glad to leave again. a beautiful city to visit, but you DON'T want to live there! (it's also VERY expensive to live there.)

I don't go there often, but when I do, I'm packing a Colt .45 filled with Silvertips.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.

Hm. I wonder how many night-time unintentional shootings in S.F. prompted the push for such an ordinance.

It's sort of like wearing a holster: one would think that shooting oneself in the hoo-hoo would be plenty of incentive, without having the state jump on people for it.
