Does anyone know the status on the Assault weapons ban that expired this past month? Any one know if they are updating it to make it suck worse? Or if they are re-evaluating it?

You might want to contact your attorney general's office for an accurate answer...
    State of New Jersey

    --Thomas B. Reed, American Attorney

Second Amendment -- Established December 15, 1791 and slowly eroded ever since What happened to "..... shall not be infringed."

    Good luck with that.

It seems to me that the state of New Jersey prides itself in denying their citizens the rights that most of us in the rest of the country enjoy.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

I don't get it. What was the point of that? A legislature as anti-gun as NJ's should have made it permanent, like those in CA and MA. So why don't they?

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

Seeing as less than 1% of crimes committed in 1994 used the banned weapons that should speak for itself about the lies being perpetrated back then.

They prolly make it every 2 years to make "editing" it easier. NJ laws are kinda iffy so things like post gun bans are gona be a sore subject.

Politics my friend. That way you can play the good guy no matter what group you are sucking up to.

"I wanted to make it permanent but knew we couldn't get the votes so this is the best we could do. We can fix it next time."
    or
"I wanted to get rid of it but it looked like they might have enough votes to make it permanent. I voted for this to stall them so we can get enough votes to flat out kill it next time."
