Historical gun control
I came across this article last year and saved it. I want to share it with this forum now because of the recent discussions on this forum of what future gun laws could be passed in response to our recent national tragedy. It's history but is a good read on what laws can be passed based on fear, ignorance, hate and control. If you don't think it's relative that's okay but I was able to,with a little imagination, put myself in the shoes of citizens unable to defend themselves against other citizens and government tyranny. Great article.....thanks for sharing.
I don't think this regime will attempt any all-out gun ban.
It will be a piece-by-piece attack, starting with a ban on those evil black rifles (AR's) through an Executive Order, late on a Friday afternoon during a holiday weekend. That seems to be his M.O. Oh, and don't forget, they will create a diversion, like a muckity-muck having an extra-marital affair, which the media will go on and on about.
The next attack will be on high capacity mags and on-line ammo sales.

You don't hear too much about the racist roots of gun control do you? Nor do you hear about how the Republicans were the people puching to end slavery. It doesn't fit the narrative that the leftist media wants you to hear, so it doesn't get covered. Now you just hear about how we are trying to get black people to kill eachother off by increasing the availability of guns to the gangs... yeah, that's what we are trying to do...
How about recognizing that black people have a right to defend themselves too.

It would be interesting to hear this point made in the upcoming debates on gun control. The roots of gun control in this country were racist. The laws these states passed after the second and especially the fourteenth amendment are what many on this forum fear for the future. You say it can't happen ? It already has in the past. In spite of the constitution and what many here believe it means, states did pass laws to confiscate firearms from citizens and then came after those same citizens after they were disarmed.

Arejay, thanks for sharing that, I know that was a racist time in America, but it fits with Washington's making it, a have vs. have not. thay have the right to make laws saying they can have and we the people can have not.
