Even the UK is calling for us to just give em over....

In the dark days following the British Expeditionary Force's evacuation from Dunkirk in 1940, Great Britain was a nation virtually disarmed. And not just by the need to abandon equipment on France's beaches to save British "Tommies" to fight another day, but by the policies of its own government. The days of devotion to civilian markmanship, "volunteer rifle clubs" and the idea that there should be "a rifle in every cottage," as proposed by the Prime Minister Marquis of Salisbury in 1900, had given way to restrictive gun control laws that required subjects to demonstrate "good reason" to merely obtain a handgun or rifle.

So with Hitler's legions poised to cross the English Channel, the British people were defended by an ill-equipped and defeated army and a "Home Guard" armed with little more than sporting shotguns and pikes.
Help for the beleaguered nation came from both the American government and from the American people, the latter through the "American Committee for Defense of British Homes." In late 1940, the committee sent an urgent appeal -- which, of course, appeared in American Rifleman -- for Americans to send "Pistols - Rifles - Revolvers - Shotguns - Binoculars" because "British civilians, faced with the threat of invasion, desperately need arms for the defense of their homes."

Thousands of arms were collected and sent to England, one of which was a .30-'06 Model 1903 target rifle owned by Major John W. Hession. Hession was one of the pre-eminent highpower rifle target shooters of his day, and he used that rifle to win Olympic gold at Bisley Camp in England in 1908. The rifle, unlike the majority sent, was returned and can now be viewed int he national Firearms Museum.

I would like to think that I could not care less about what the Brits think, but it does pain me what has happened to thier country. Their ignorant pleas just show how far they have fallen, and how much they have been brainwashed.

They lost their power to control our destiny in the late 1700s. It would be nice if they gave us some support though. We used to be partners in leading the free world.

That's why we kicked their a$$'s back in Korea!

In all seriousness, the rest of the world has been trying to tell us how we should live our lives and govern and criticize everything we do. Yet they are happy to put their hands out when they need aid or have their butts in a sling and want us to bail em out.
I could care less what the Brits say or request.

When your enemies and questionable friends tell you to do something then that is the time to do just the opposite.

    Dear Queen of England,

    You want them?

    Then come and get them.

    Yours truly,

Last time the British tried taking away our arms, we kicked'em back across the pond. They pretend to have a higher morality while jailing those who use any force for self defense and leaving the weak, old, and infirm at the mercy of merciless criminals and gangs of street thugs.

I will think about giving up a gun when Elizabeth Regina sends her Corgis to the pound to be put down because there are children bitten by dogs somewhere in the world.

I read the artical and thought typical knee jerk response. But then I read the comments section. That was a better read and more balanced than the article. More insight and better throught process from the comments section than the author of the article.

i would bet that at least 8 out of 10 violent criminals would also love to have law-abiding citizens disarmed.

do the gun grabbers ever think about the fact that their agenda is supported by felons? LOL.
