Gun sales are booming. S&W can't keep up with demand. Stock prices are down at the moment. Sounds like a good opportunity to buy stock at a discount.

I predict there will be some bantering back and forth and it will all go away with the next crisis... or be buried on page 13 when news media sales start to sag again.

The market is pricing in the possiblity of new gun control laws and the effect the laws will have on the bottom line of the manufacturers in the future.

Some of the large state pension funds (CALPERS, egc.) are putting pressure on funds to divest.

This is exactally what I was thinking. New laws and legislation appears inevitable. Manufacturers are going to take a nose dive to meet potential new requirements. That cuts into profits and lowers profit. However the educated investor has the potential to make some significant gains providing they buy and be patient and will to ride the wave.
