Because they too, were free men. And free thinkers, who believed in God, and the "unalienable rights" bestowed upon all free men, from God.

Isn't it just a little disconcerting that lately over the past couple of years, there has been a push against any mention of God? They want it off the money, out of the pledge, don't want a moment of prayer to begin a session of government etc. To me, this isn't just coincidence. There is more at work. If you ask me I would say they want God out so they can have people believe that everything you have comes from the government and you must always obey. Another method of control.

Yes, there may be a change in certain laws that will say you can't be found in possession of certain type weapons, or ammo but that exist now. You will have a very expensive paperweight you can't be caught with so you will just need to keep it hidden but they are not coming for it or you until you use it...

Some here seem to think they can't survive without massive firepower in their basements....that any weapons restriction is an infringement on there right to bear arms. Well sorry you can't have hand grenades, Rocket launchers, and 50 cal's on the back your jeep wranglers.

You are correct. It is not coincidence. As long as we have guns and a belief in God, we remain free. Remove either one of those two components and we become slaves.

They've been working on the end result, from multiple directions for more than a generation. Who are they? They are the athiests, the progressives, the socialists, the fascists, the Marxists, the communists... It doesn't matter what you call them, they are all the same. With the same goal. And they relied on apathy to stealthily lull us to sleep. They took their time. They came at us with babysteps, from all different sides, a little at a time. And now it seems, they think they are ready for the final blow.

Will they be successful? I don't know. We let it go, unchecked for a long time.

Lets see now. Our representatives have gone beyond their legal bounds how?

1) no free speech zones while at any gathering for the liar in chief. If "he" (read president) doesn't like your protest, the secret service will and or can arrest you for your opposing view towards the president.
Freedom of speech, peaceable assembly gone= check!

2) this is a big one and I can't understand why more people aren't more upset over it (it could apply to EVERYONE who posts here or elsewhere) NDAA. Let me give you a visual aid on this one....

The talk of armed rebellion is premature. This is understandably a personal issue to most everyone here, myself included. As Hopyard said in an earlier post, we have representation up and down the govt chain, representation that the founding fathers is not have. If our worst fears should come to pass, we should make use of these means of redress. If these means should fail, and should it come to an armed rebellion, it will need to be at the state, not the individual level. Before it comes to that, though, the states need to make use of their soapbox powers first, which was also written into the founding documents. The states can call for modification to the constitution and can pass amendments that limit the power of the federal govt without the approval of the federal govt. If all of the above were to fail then I have little doubt that things would come to an armed rebellion, which they have done before, however it would be a rebellion from the top down, not from the bottom up.

Yesterday I was talking to my parents, who are almost 70 years old and I described the panic buying, the soaring permit applications, the price gouging, etc. My fathers response was, "what you are saying terrifies me.". These types of actions, and this sort of talk, is seen as a negative by those who don't "get" it.

The 2nd amendment allows for a militia for the protection of freedom. I do not see anything unlawful in following the constitution and protecting it. I do not expect it to come to that but that is our right if the government tries to overturn the Constitution. That is why I said if all else fails. I fully expect the courts settle it. There is not a lawful reason at this point to call for armed resistance. But if the government falls into tyranny then who decides what is lawful? Do we follow the laws of the Constitution or of the government? Perhaps we disagree on which holds the authority and consent of the people.

Wait...I have to have guns and a belief in God to be free? That's an interesting sentiment. I can name lots of countries that have lots of guns and a very strong belief in God. Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc, etc, etc. not so much freedom in those places. Or were you referring only to the Christian God? I thought we had freedom of religion in this country. That also includes the freedom not to have our lives dictated by another's religion or to not have a religion at all.

Your freedom does not come from any government or "king". It comes from your creator. Whether you call him Allah, God, Budah or what have you. The belief that everything you have is owed to the government or somehow your good fortune should be attributed to the government is false. That is the point here. Every culture believes in some type of higher power, and from that higher power are they made "free people". Ever hear of free will?
