Obama to go for guns in 2013 'there will be resistance'
Obama hopes to enact new gun-control measures in 2013
President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his “full weight” behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.
“I'm going to be putting forward a package and I'm going to be putting my full weight behind it,” said Obama in an interview aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I'm going to be making an argument to the American people about why this is important and why we have to do everything we can to make sure that something like what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary does not happen again.”
But he has also called on Congress to move quickly to reinstate the federal assault weapons ban and a ban on the sale of high-capacity magazines.
And there you have it folks. The new agenda for the new term.
Anyone still think it's not gonna happen?

Something about the consent of the governed. He can probably force whatever he wants through Congress or through EO, but this government is getting close to losing the consent of the governed. The government is clearly not afraid of the people, therefore...

That's very accurate and it really is worth mentioning.
Just look at all the state laws that have started springing up that battle the federal laws that this administration has passed. Already we are seeing state legislators starting to introduce state level legislation that would combat any federal gun control legislation.
Some people think that we could never have another civil war, but I think they fail to realize that in some ways we already have one; it's just a war that will be waged in a court room.

In the first civil war, the feds succeeded in essentially establishing that they have the right to do whatever they darn well please, the states be damned. I am surprised it took this long, but the states do seem to be growing a pair. Let's hope the states win this in the legislatures/courts.

Current "restrictions" don't work. More is going to be better? That's like saying since people won't obey the 70 MPH speed limit we'll lower it to 45 MPH.

And if the courts fail methinks it could get very ugly.

Glad I moved to the south! Oh FYI Serving Military & Police Professionals with Boots, Packs, Uniforms and Tactical Gear - U.S. Cavalry has 40round mags .223/5.56 for $24. They're on backorder. I ordered one and then got 2 pmags from Midway USA expected to be here in Feb. The pmags were the same price for ONE of the 40rounders but shipping and total was about $33. I guess if he wants our guns he can go ahead and try to take them! I'm ready.
