He says to "think about" living in the U.S without the Constitution. Okay, I've thought about it. Sounds like a laughably horrendous idea and it shouldn't be brought up again.

I watched just the first couple minutes. That's all I needed to watch. No wonder some our politicians don't have a clue. They have a nut job (for lack of ability to use a more appropriate term) teaching them when they are in college.

America is what it is because of the Constitution. If you don't like the constitution, you need to go somewhere that has a different one.

It's a pretty sickening thing, and to think that a great many of our law makers in Washington feel the exact same way.

The professor makes a valid point. We need to make clear what 2A means to us in the here and now and not get too caught up in what it may have meant to past generations.

The 2nd Amendment means now what it meant when it was written. The right of the people to keep and bear arms, equal or better than any standing army, shall not be infringed. That is for the protection of the state against foreign invaders or citizens to protect themselves against a tyrannical government.

They are certainly trying their best to scrap it...one section at a time. It reminds me of a famous quote by Martin Niemoller regarding the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power. I've modified it just a tad to demonstrate how this is going to work regarding our Bill of Rights:

First they came for our Religion,
    and I didn't speak up because I didn't have a religion.

Then they came for our Freedom from Unreasonable Search & Seizure,
and I didn't speak up because I had nothing to hide.

Then they came for our Right to Bear Arms,
and I didn't speak up because I had no arms.

Then they came for our Freedom of Speech,
and there was no one left to speak up.

We are well on our way folks. Once they get away with legislating things based on what THEY decide WE "need" or don't "need", then the door is open for the banning and confiscation of anything and everything. Think it can't happen? Ask someone in NY if they are free to buy a 16 oz soda. Next they'll ban candy bars because of Diabetes.

Guns are like sex and air...its no big deal until YOU can't get any.
