But, since you seem to be disappointed/dissatisfied with my brevity, allow me to say that I have been an ardent supporter of our God-given rights for a very long time. This is not a new fight for me. My wife and I have been Life Members of the NRA for so long I cant even remember when I became a "lifer".

Since the Newtown tragedy, I have become an Endowment member, given gift memberships, talked to friends about our rights and the absolute necessity to work to preserve them, I have written my legislators, written letters to the editor and generally will engage anyone and everyone I can to have a meaningful conversation about this multifaceted topic. I'm like a duck on a pond. On the surface everything looks calm. But underneath the surface, my feet are going 90 miles a minute.

Since you seem to want to know my opinion of Yaeger and the fat, obnoxious guy I never heard of before, I'll tell you I think they are both a couple of idiots who'd be better off just shutting the heck up. When the liberal media spews off calling the NRA a terrorist organization and suggests that pro gun folks be shot or drug behind pick up trucks what is your reaction? Do you really think Yaeger piping off about shooting people is in any way appropriate or strengthens our position in any way? Seriously?!

Questioning my resolve because of my lack of an inappropriate emotional response? Have you never heard it's the quiet ones you better watch out for? Do not even begin to presume that you can determine my resolve in this fight by the tone of one post in this thread. I will tenaciously fight this fight with the appropriate action at the appropriate time. "Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread". Yaeger and the fat guy are fools!

Lastly, you are obviously new around here. Although I don't "know" you very well from previous posts, of the posts I have seen, you seem to be looking to pick a fight within the ranks in a certain manner of speaking. How about you take it to the "enemy"? How long have YOU been a NRA member? What have YOU done since Newtown? Have you written your legislators or do you just come to this forum to pound your chest?

Wow, see you need to state your opinions so people can clearly understand your position instead of appearing to be calling everyone idiots. It's hard to know who exactly you are talking about wihen you paint with such a wide brush. Glad I triggered your response. If you think I'm trying to pick a fight with others here you are flat wrong. I simply call them like I see it and I think Yeager has a lot of issues. I would not follow him, and he does not speak for me in any form. In any case I think you pretty much failed the analysis of me in your post but I'm happy and pretty secure and not bothered or offended. I think you and I actually agree whether or not that seems possible to you. I guess your comment was to Yeager originally and not people on the thread but when a discussion begins to develop for pages and you respond directly to the first post it's hard to understand where your comment is pointed. My post was simply a method of pushing your button to get the real opinion, and it worked like a charm. Peace, I have no issues with you. Carry on, nothing to see here, LOL.

No, it has happened (or was threatened and nearly happened, not sure which) to a CHL instructor in TX who had
a similarly big mouth and no sense of discretion. Though, it was a threatened loss of the instructor's permit not the CHL
    if memory serves.

Bottom line, if you talk like a nut case and bring your nutty talk to the attention of authorities, they just might
decide that your license--- which they control whether you think they should or not-- could be revoked.

Almost all mental health cases turn on talk, expression of suicidal ideas or murderous ideation; both being exactly the talk

    This is what was said.

    CAMDEN, TN (WSMV) -
A Middle Tennessee firearms trainer who made an ominous and very public promise in a YouTube video that gained national attention this week, has had his handgun carry permit suspended Friday by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

James Yeager, 42, had his permit suspended based on a "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public," the department said in a statement.

Yeager told Channel 4 News he is aware of the suspension, and his attorney will handle his statements going forward.

The department said Yeager has the right to seek a review of the decision.

I might be late with this, but I understand that Tennesee suspended his handgun permit. I believe most of us feel just as deeply about the possible AWB as Yeager, however we do not need this kind of rhetoric to make our point. The Libs can say " see I told you they were all maniacs" Getting his AR and "goin out to shoot people" is absolutely the wrong image at the wrong time.

I can understand some blow back for such an idiotic video but why is it that a black panther, spike lee and race pimps can cause death threats to a guy in Florida defending himself legally but they have ZERO consequences. I guess it still remains if you have a southern accent, rebel flag and bald head you are handled under a complete double standard. If you are black or in the political forcefield you can threaten everyone and say incredibly violent things and nothing ever happens. if you are this profile the world comes down on you. I have no issues with Yeager getting slapped a little, I just want to know where is the consistency?

Yes it does Hop. Get you a new straight jack tuxedo. I wish he had been more calm but I understand his convictions related to confiscation. I don't condone his words but understand his resistance. The suspension of rights has happened just by exercising rights and took a Federal Judge two direct orders to get Nagel and the NOPD to stop confiscation and return the guns to the owners during Katrina. I have first hand knowledge of these events as a Cat adjuster working claims from Katrina. People were turning in claims stating the Guard and or NOPD stole their firearms. They were just protecting their homes and had good reason to. Believe me when I tell you it was dangerous. The only people that were left behind were the people that didn't have the money to leave and the drug dealers and the bangers looking to expand their criminal enterprise. Regular folks were exercising their rights of protection and then their rights were suspended with the kick of a door. Is the frustration of people have no merit where you are concerned or do you have a line in the sand. I'm not attacking you by any means I was just wondering where is the line drawn in the sand with you and with honest reflection, what is appropriate resistance.

We know the "rules" that the media plays by. In this case what other people did and how the press responded means nothing at all to whats happing now with a possible AWB. The press portrays us as "gun nuts" and Yeager just strengthened that portrayal, he did us no good. What we need are more spokesmen like Marine Josh Boston. Reasonable, articulate, and correct in their interpretation on the 2nd Amendment and less like the moron that is James Yeager. He did damn near as much damage to us as that psychopath in CT.

I think people are confusing principled opposition to a political position with a falsely assumed right
to break the law. He lost his license, now let him go tell it to a judge; and let's see if a judge thinks
that was 1A protected speech or not. What he did was the equivalent of yelling fire in a theater and more.
The former is disorderly conduct, maybe reckless endangerment if it causes a stamped for the exits, possibly
manslaughter if someone get trampled. The latter, was a direct threat, or in today's inappropriate
parlance, terroristic threat. And that doesn't even get to 18 USC 2383

"Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

@ DPRO-- You asked, "where is the line drawn in the sand with you"
    ANSWER--
I don't know about others here, but I intend to remain a law abiding citizen. The problems under discussion
will be settled by the appropriate authorities and I have no intention of setting my judgment above theirs.
