Universal background checks, does that mean everyone whether they are purchasing a firearm or not? Let's do background on everyone.

Background checks should be mandatory for anyone entering the public sector.

If I fail a background check, can I get gun welfare?

The problem with gun control is that drugs are already illegal.

I have given some thought to the Biden committee and what happened with that mother and her children in Georgia. If her husband had not given her a gun and shown her how to use it for certain harm would have come to them. God bless the husband. And good for the mother having the courage to use it when needed but then you never want to get between a mother and her cubs. But how would Biden answer to the husband if they had not been allowed to have a gun? Would he have shown up at the funerals or the hospital? I doubt it.

I learned something today: avoid biting when a simple growl will do. To that I would like to add: be sure the gun is cocked and loaded when you growl.

Did anyone here the last few words in Biden's sentence about background checks? He quickly added ALL sales INCLUDING private sales. I wonder how that will work?

Basically, he's saying that it is going to be easier to break the law and harder to follow it.

I thought it was really really hilarious the NRA finally gets a shot at helping a solution to the problem and all they get is fingerpointing from the White House agenda.

You will have to go to a dealer and pay them to run a check before making the sale.

They don't want a "solution to the problem". Unless. of course, you are referring to the problem of how to disarm the American people.

Piers Morgan wouldn't. He's a dirt bag of the highest order:

Backgroundchecks for everyone wishing to emigrate to the US?
Background checks for everyone wishing to freeload and collect a check without putting anything into the kitty?
Background checks for all single teenage mothers wishing for a check?
Background checks for all polititians before they are greenlighted for running for political office in the US of A?(gotta make sure they are eligible)

Let's not miss the fact that this last (mandatory background checks for private sales) is more theater for the base. How in the world would this be enforceable? Charles Krauthammer called all this stuff "placebo", and I think he's right. It feels good without addressing the problem of school security. The president may be able to ban imports. I suppose it might be possible for him to place onerous and/or expensive tasks on procuring ammunition. But the extra-draconian stuff (ala Sen. Feinstein) requires passage by congress. I still think we're seeing all the chest-puffing (threats about Executive Order) because the White House has figured out how tough a slog it will be to push this successfully on the Hill. Keep the pressure on.
