Interesting. Hamstrung by his own healthcare law.

Although this administration has always considered itself above the law.

quite interesting but not likely to be any sort of stopping law for the anti gun lobby and their political friends.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

Anyone catch the line, "...we are not doing enough to protect the citizens" as the closing statement in the segment?

Last time I checked, I protect myself and my family. Don't need the fed to get involved thank you very much.

Here is a thought for you.

American law enforcement as we know it derived from British common law. One of the principals is that the police are not there to protect you, they are there to protect society. They cannot arrest someone until a crime is committed, that means there must be a victim first. Even SCOTUS has ruled that the police have no obligation to protect you personally.

It was hardly a secret...... It had to be included in the bill before Congress voted on it..... Basically it appears no one read the entire bill prior to voting..... Also it is possible some did see that part and made no big deal out of it since it simply states the medical community can not ask for such information. Owning firearms/ammunition has nothing to do with physical medical care and very little concerning psychological care.

Second Amendment -- Established December 15, 1791 and slowly eroded ever since What happened to "..... shall not be infringed."

No, it actually states "The Government and Health Insurer's" cannot ask or keep such information.

Here you will find the actual wording for the provision which is now part of the Healthcare Act.

This Is How a Secret Gun Provision Made its Way Into Obamacare Legislation

There is also a link there to the entire Affordable Care Act signed by Obama. All 906 pages of it. For those interested in reading the entire law. It's in pdf format and allows you to save a copy on your computer.

Yeah.. After posting, I was hoping it didn't sound snarky. But... Yeah. The government seems (to me) to have held itself above the letter of the law for longer than I've been alive, at least.

Another law defending people against insurers, then? Or just government insurers?

Senator Harry Reid has long been an active pro-gun advocate and friend of gunowners.
    Thank you, senator Reid.
