Laws are restrictive but sometimes necessary to maintain a civil society. Rights are nonrestrictive but are always necessary to maintain a free society.

Heck with the armed teacher. Where my kids go to school the bitchy lunch and playground mothers could handle the situation..

Voted NO......sorry but I'm not for teachers or janitors being armed in school......I am for having a LEO in school during school hours much like they do with the DARE programs......IMO, once a civilian displays a gun especially in a school environment, the civil suits will follow....put a cop there behind a desk and be done with it.

I voted yes. Most schools cannot afford full-time LEOs to stand guard at every campus. How many would it require to protect a sizable campus? I guess we could train all the teachers to be LEOs. When seconds count, even school police are minutes away. Every teacher will not desire to carry, or be suited to carry. The ones who do desire to carry should receive training to do so safely and effectively. Unless there is a situation that demands it, the weapon should never be exposed, and no one should know who is carrying and who isn't. How many civil suits will follow an event like the one in Newtown? No armed faculty or janitors were there. You cannot stop all terrorism. You can only mitigate it's damage.

Public schools don't pay for LEO's............your taxes do......hire a few more cops instead of throwin' the tax payers money away on some other over budgeted junk.......

And where exactly are you going all those cops to put one behind every desk? And while they are at school, who is going to be patrolling the streets and solving crimes?

The quiet truth here is that Utah has allowed this for quite a while and without incident.
Texas has allowed it if the district approves it...one has, and without incident.
