The Clinton administration steam rolled the tobacco industry with the support of the majority. Coming from NC and owning a tobacco farm, I took that very personally. No, tobacco isn't the most clever habit one can have but it's a personal choice and it's legal. As a society we often put aside logic and law in favor of a witch hunt. Welcome to Salem I suppose. This time it's the Remington's of the nation. Dig in and hammer your state and federal representatives.

Yeah, I started a thread on that back on the 9th.

Is it time to write manufacturers for support?

Here and on another forum. Not much support on the idea.

ETA - The repercussions of any bans or restrictions at this point seem glaringly obvious to me, and I would like to think that a majority of gun owners are taking the "Enough is enough" stance, "No new Firearm Legislation". Why we would not try to solicit the support from Corporations is beyond me, since we will boycott a Corporation at the drop of a hat.

Case in point - WalMart is going to sell what firearms and ammunition they have, and that will be it. No restocking, no special orders, until the 2A issues has been settled, and have publicly stated that they support all the Anti factions now. Still going to give them your money?

Jan. 9, 2013 - "Walmart, like the rest of the country, has been engaged in a national dialogue about the responsible sale and regulation of firearms.

"We have had ongoing conversations with the Administration, Congress, Mayor Bloomberg’s office, sportsmen groups, suppliers and others to listen and share our thoughts and experiences.

"Over the years we have been very purposeful about striking the right balance between serving hunters and sportsmen and ensuring that we sell firearms responsibly. In fact, we became a charter member of Mayor Bloomberg’s coalition against illegal guns and adopted the 10-point code established by the Responsible Firearms Retailer Partnership that goes beyond what the law requires.

"Knowing our senior leaders could not be in Washington this week, we spoke in advance with the Vice President’s office to share our perspective. We underestimated the expectation to attend the meeting on Thursday in person, so we are sending an appropriate representative to participate.

"We take this issue very seriously and are committed to staying engaged in this discussion as the Administration and Congress work toward a consensus on the right path forward."

Don't ever say the socialist agenda is not targeted to destroy capitalism. This is a sweet deal for the left. News this morning went into the proposals in NY and banking industry to stop doing business with firearms mfg to choke the gun supply and shut them down. Of course these banks like Bank of America have no idea people like me just cancelled all my ties and cards with them throughout our entire family. There will be plenty of heartland areas and financial institutions THRILLED to do business with top firearm and gear manufacturers.

Has it dawned on anyone that Obama and the Dems truly are destroying the economy? Didn't Pelosi nut job say welfare stimulates the economy on national TV?

We live in some historical times. And the youngest generation is happily going along with their smart phones mostly oblivious they will be living in Ameri-Europe in 2-4 years.

Your right about it being un American, but we have an un American administration in the White House. Some of the surprise might not be there if folks would stop thinking pre- Obama. King George the third has come back to life, and is now our ruler.

Well, from ground zero at the SHOT SHOW....

How much more erosion of Second Amendment will people accept?

As the firearms industry gathers here in Las Vegas for the opening day of the 2013 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) show, there are quiet conversations all ending with the ultimate question: Just how much more are we going to accept?

We have noticed the erosion of our 2A rights and our republic, but the greater body of people have not. This country is at the point of the early 1930's Wiemar Republic.

What was the Wiemar Republic? .... Google it , study it, learn the history.

Tell your friends & enemies alike (it may change a few minds). E-mail to your friends & ask them to email their friends.

We are at a junction point in our Republic. Which way will we go?

I like Alan and think he has done loads for gun rights, but he got it wrong. Obama not only could not care less about the 2A, he could not care less about the entire constitution (as amended).

Is this not also part of Obama's real plan of "CHANGE" as he did with the closing of Saturn and Chrysler dealerships. More and more people unemployed more people dependent on the government and more government control over the population.

What was the Wiemar Republic? Great question and the majority of Americans most likely have never heard of it. While in college we did cover it but I would doubt that it is part of any subject matter taught today. Seems to be similar to the direction our present administration has taken.

Why be sad about putting the gun industry out of business? Guns are evil and those who sell them are profiting on death. They should be locked up on top of being put out of business.
