Some good thoughts and criticisms of the NRA's response to the Sandy Hook shooting Alan Gura.
But I think that if the NRA had come out and only talked about the issue of freedom, they would've been charged with being completely tone-deaf with respect to the issue of safety/prevention in schools. Alan himself seemed to shrug all that off...with only a passing reference to dealing more aggressively with the mentally ill.
With the level of raw emotions at the time, the NRA was in a very difficult spot.
