Wonder if a teacher put them up to this...

As a teacher that makes me furious as I am sure it was such. The letter shown says to stop gun violence.

Not surprised they are using the kid angle hard, as mentioned in another thread.

It's just another emotional grab by an administration that depends on emotion and personal greed to stay in power. The ironic thing is thinking that the "logic" of an 8 year old to solve adult problems, is in any way valid. Great job Oblamer, your problem solving abilities are on par with a second grader. Nice.

I am sure we will see "proposals" on the same level. Many things from the administration have been at that astute level of logical deduction.

Seriously? You wonder if a teacher or someone else put them up to this? Really?

The current crop of mush for brains children have no ability to think as long as the NEA remains at the helm.
The reason we are in this predicament is due to the brain washed kiddies starting about 20-30 years ago.
The socialist progressive liberals are now the ones who are teaching YOUR kids! It's a perfect storm; well thought out by the socialists and
now very well propagated deep into the public school system.

i am sure the teachers put them up to this. and i think it is down right despicable. they are paid to teach our kids certain subjects. they are not paid to take political sides and push those sides to our children.

Kids are brainwashed by liberal parents and teachers that think the liberal plan for Amerika is the way to go....too many bad memories of the times when you had to actually study in school, learn to fight on the play ground, get a job with a real interview and get promoted based upon on your work and productivity...These kids were told what to write, or at least the basic theme...guns are bad. And, if the any kid wants to, he can call the cops and turn in the parents as gun owners, trust me, that is next, maybe not in the free states, but the states run by these liberal nannies will want ALL the guns..soon.

Why aren't there more letters like this?

Dear Mr. President,

Can you reduce our national debt and create more jobs?

P.S. Maybe enforce our existing gun laws?

Sincerely,
Little Timmy

Ya know what, folks... I think you're forgetting what it was like to be a kid... Sure, most kids wouldn't think of writing the President to STOP gun violence... And a teacher may have suggested it is part of the democratic process to write to our elected officials to try to change things.

Kids write Santa Clause hoping to get gifts... Is that "liberal thought control?" And parents, both liberal and conservative, suggest this as a means of getting what they want for Christmas.

The kids; the direct victims, and those who heard about it, and those who walked away from it alive, are all subject to some pretty deep emotions. And, they believe they are doing their part... for a better America... they know little, if anything about Magazines, muzzle velocities, Aks, ARs. clips, shoulder go up thingies, barrel shrouds or anything else...

They believe G.Washington cut down a cherry tree... They have been told that a little girl made Lincoln grow a beard... they think they can do something good...

Of course, to use the children in this way is despicable... but to blame the children.... c'mon... we're better'n that... aren't we?

No one is blaming the children. I blame the progressive liberal parents & teachers who raise these little robots.

Of course they are going to use children to support gun control! Was this going to surprise anyone who can see throught the facade of it?

What better way than to exploit the innocent children into "writing" things like this. Children that young cannot come to the conclusion that guns are bad unless someone with an agenda is coaching them.

I remember when Kennedy was assassinated and when the guy in Texas got on a tower and shot people. None of my teachers made us write letters to ban guns. This is a modern day tactic to push forth the real agenda and that would be ban and ultimately the attempt at confiscation.

I hate it when Liberals use a tragedy like CT to further their grab for power. It is not right and will tarnish the memory of those who lost their lives at the hands of some mentally ill person.

Again Obama is on TV right in the middle of The Price is Right. This is the one show I enjoy everyday and here is this clown again to ruin it. I am soooo past sick of seeing this guy on my TV.

I notice that he only had kids who wrote letters that agreed with his agenda on stage with him. My fifth grader wrote him a letter asking him to stay away from HER right to bear arms. She wasn't asked to come sit behind the Royal O. Why not I wonder?

Teachers, Parents, Media.. children are easily manipulated. They are small sheep.

My first "contact" with a loony liberal teacher was in 5th grade (1961ish). She was crazy. We didn't even open any books all year, but we learned all about her religion....tacky art...her hometown (Chicago) and how horrible the world is. She got me put in a Lutheran school to catch up with the year lost with her. She was so out of place in a middle class Midwestern school (north eastern Kansas). She would run out of the classroom crying and we never knew why. If she is still alive, I am sure she is a big Obama fan. She would have been the type to have her class write these kinds of letters, but back then if she had tried, she would have been ran out of town earlier than after the first year (so many complaints from parents...she was ran out of town and ended up back in Chicago).

This was the only time I ran into this type of teacher. None in High School....college...they hadn't taken over yet. Yet I started to run into them with my daughter's teachers. They were disasters to the education of my child and many others. These people are a danger to the children they teach. Someone needs to put a "stake" through the "heart" of the NEA, for the sake of the children.

But we also heard from some unexpected people. In particular, I started getting a lot of letters from kids...These are some pretty smart letters from some pretty smart young people...And their voices should compel us to change.
Why are letters from 8 year olds helping him to make decisions about things that the 8 year olds don't understand the complexities of?

They are 8, they do not fully understand the Constitution and the Bill of Rights or the complexities and ramifications of altering these documents.

Seriously, are we now letting the letters from 8 year olds influence the direction that the country will take?

Hard to believe a 6 yr old wrote that, but, thumbs up.

It would be nice if we could get all the children who's lives were saved because someone was there with a gun to protect them, to write a letter to the President. Do you think he would read them at the next news conference.
