Sorry, I've had too many bad experiences with the NRA to say they don't compromise too much.

And it wasn't just the 1934 act, the GCA of 1968 or the so-called assault weapon bill of the 90's that ALL should have been challenged. They should have bucked the banning machine gun manufacture for private citizens in '86, even though it was Reagan that signed that. They should challenge every infringement of the 2nd Amendment just like the ACLU does for freedom of speech. Especially at the state and local levels, where it is hard as hell to get them to even say a bad thing about anti gun laws.

Just because they are the 800 lb gorilla of the gun groups doesn't mean their stances are a good thing.

One last attaboy for the SAF and GOA, I have never had them send me junk mail or have hired telemarketers call me to say the sky is falling and ask for funds.

Hallelujah. I'm no fan of the ACLU, but when was the last time they compromised on free speech?
