the ad is not trying to win anyone over, but rather show what a hypocritical elitist Obama is. During the 1994 AWB proceedings, the NRA "played nice".
They obviously have chosen a different game plan this time around since being nice didn't work in '94. Expect more from the NRA.....should be fun to
watch the elected King squirm a bit. He can't handle being called out for what he is.....a socialist with the ultimate goal of complete gun confiscation.
Today's press conference was just the tip of the iceberg. Since his economic policies fail so miserably, he is looking at putting a mark on his "Presidency",
and I use that term with tongue in cheek. He will keep pushing for more gun control, and more gun control for the next four freaking years.....and the
NRA knows this. Time to run with the Big Dogs, or stay on the Porch. My money is on the NRA
Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.

He doesn't like the NRA commercial and I don't like the way he's running our country. Guess we're even then.

I liked the commercial and think the NRA has finally found its voice in the fight. Obama can tell everyone else about their children, what they can and can't do as parents, and use children in his power games. Kinda stinks to be on the receiving end doesn't it big O? Basically the NRA said "How do you like me now?"

Its OK for Obama to use children, put out propaganda, but an opposing opinion is forbidden.
This country is getting real messed up!

In the last month I have purchased a Glock 19 and have a Colt AR on order. I am appalled at what has happened in NY with gun rights, but I think that the NRA has done more bad
than good for the rights of gun owners in the last month. I feel that they are totally out of touch with what is happening and if they continue with there higher than thou attitude we as a group are going to be left out to dry. Instead of coming up with the reasons why these mass acts of violence are occurring, gangs, drugs, economic strife, mental illness, etc. all they
come up with is armed guards in schools and violent hollywood and video games of which they come out with an app for 4yr olds and up to shoot with an assault rifle. Hello, a month after 20, five and six year olds are massacred. Sorry I don't understand. Then yesterday a commercial involving the presidents daughters, sorry I just don't get it.
In my opinion, they are further alienating us rather than unifying us. Sorry just the way I see it.

Other forum posted some amazing photos of Hitler, Sadam and others standing with children to spew propaganda, whoa, chilling image.
The NRA is reflecting NOTHING more or less than what loyal Americans feel. At least someone is actually representing us. And you are not going to alienate liberals any more than they are already aliens.

No more Mr. Nice Guy! I love it how they called him out.

I liked the commercial, as it points out one of his hypocrisies. I didn't think it came across as an attack on his family at all. Of course everyone thinks the President's children should be protected, but we also feel that our own should be as well. His children aren't more important than ours.
I think the NRA should take the offensive and do more to educate the American public about the truth. They should point out how Obama's recommendations would do nothing to prevent the next Sandy Hook. They should show the American public what Obama's "Assault Weapon" really is. They should point out how it doesn't matter if the mass murderer has a 30 round magazine or 3 10 round magazines, 30 shots are still fired without resistance. If they had their way we wouldn't have access to anything other than single shot breech loaded firearms, if that. And that would be fine as long as that's all anybody else had (including the government) but that's not the case and never will be.
I'm not sure what the solutions are, but I do wish they all would work towards finding solutions that are agreeable on both sides without trampling all over the Constitution. There are a lot of sick people in this world, always have been. Gun control laws aren't going to fix that. It's sad to think that as a society we are at a point where we may need armed guards at our schools to prevent our kids from being killed by some lunatic but if that's what it takes to prevent the next Sandy Hook, then so be it. At least it's a solution and not a political agenda.

Everyone knows the issues (gangs/econ/drugs), but getting the other half of the nation to admit people are the problem is long term in nature - coming to a concensus on how to address them will take even longer. No one is willing to admit publicly that 1/2 of the homicide problem is young black males in gangs b/c it's not politically correct. Arming staff and guards are more immediate solutions. It's not a one or the other type deal. As to the app, iTunes is responsible for rating the apps, and a video game depicting shooting at paper targets is not violent.

Not happy about blaming video games and movies either. That is not the source of the problem. That would be PARENTING [gonna try real hard not to get on that soap box again - interested, do a search in this sub forum with Parenting and my user name].
The pro gun side has been virtually silent in the manner of advertising, whereas the antis are starting their own pre-election type commercials (I'll wager they are getting a heck of a prime time discount too). The only air time the pro gun side gets is either at protests or gunshows, then the reporters try to find the biggest, red neck, nut job they can find to paint us [all gun owners] in a bad light. Would not surprise me if they [media] refuse to run any pro gun ads on principle.
On hiatus.
Hit my limit for speculation, the sky is falling, and gun owners fighting amongst themselves.

I think it's about time that someone stood up and showed Obama what a hypocrite he is. I'm glad the NRA put that video out. Too bad more don't do it. Just like Judge Jenine and the Journal news outing her as a concealed permit holder. She is ripping them a new one for it (as she should). Someone needs to let him know we are upset with the way he is running this country. I didn't see any images of his daughters. If mentioning his daughters is shameless, his using those kids is horrific. Quit being such a nation of pansies and get some backbone.

Oblamer knows he's a hypocrite...I'm glad they're showing a lot of the uninformed fence riders that drink the media flavored kool-aid.

Yup. It's hardly about attacking kids, or anyone. It's about "outing" the hypocritical stance of daring to say "Do as I say, not as I do," and "These restrictions are good for y'all, despite essentially not applying to me and mine."
