A witness saw the dogs, all pit bulls, attacking the boy near the corner of 8th Street and Sheridan Street just after 1 p.m. Sunday, D.C. police spokesman Officer Araz Alali said. Alali said the witness went inside his home, retrieved a gun, and shot one of the dogs, killing him. When police arrived, an officer shot and killed the other two dogs.
Alali said the boy, who was taken to a local hospital with bites throughout his body, was in stable condition.

The witness gun was legal and he has done a great job about protecting his neighbor. I would like to extend a thank you for being a great neighbor. The dogs belong to a 45-50 year old adult male who stands by looking at scene amazed that his pitbulls were guned down. Washington post said that the pitbulls were shot but they were not the only one shot on the scene because the 11 year old suffer gun shot wound to the foot. Thanks for all the support and he is now stable as he
awaits surgery.
