I'm cautiously optimistic about the will of the people (gunowners) on all of this, I see/read quite a bit of resisitance. Obama/Biden continue to try to spin all of this gun control talk in their favor, maybe the "signs" don't look favorable for them.
That being said, we should never let up............ "I ain't quittin"
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME.
That will of the people, as opposed to the will of the city-dwellers whose majority got him elected, is something he and his have seriously underestimated.

Stay the course people. He can only take things away if we allow it. Resist the sharp wit and smile that people flock towards. He has a plan to disarm us all.

My hope is that the american people get mad enough to stand on the hind legs and tell those in Washington that the Constitution does mean something and still stands for the way this country is to be and will run. My hope is this is what it takes to get us back to following the Constitution in all areas. Those in charge have thumbed their noses at it for to long.
I know.....but one can always hope.

I'm extremely sorry for the kids at Sandy Hook, but this recent gun control effort became an opportune open door, and one that might wind up as a door he wishes never opened. I think there are a lot of people who voted for him, but they would also vote against any gun control measures.
Crime may be down overall, but I think deep down a lot of American's are uneasy with the state of the world, the state of the USA, bath salt eaters, drug induced violence, home invasions, domestic terrorist attacks. Right now is certainly not a good time to mess with someone's home defense efforts. Those kids deaths was an emotional issue for me, protecting myself and my family is an emotional issue for me as well.

Looking at this from a different perspective...
The President knows that the over-the-top bill that Feinstein and her ilk are pushing through will never make it out of the Senate, let alone get a chance to die a death of starvation in the House.
Unless his party leaders start working on compromises, the President's "legacy" of gun control will die a forlorn death. But instead, Feinstein keeps pimping her bill to everyone who will listen, and refusing to listen to anyone who says anything contrary to her worldview. Even Harry Reid isn't listening to her now...
My opinion is that they floated the strictest bills they could, knowing that they probably will not succeed. They are hoping that when the dust settles people will accept lessened restrictions (that still infringe on the rights of the law abiding), with the people just being glad that it's not a lot worse. Just my opinion.
In my humble opinion, it was a grave mistake to go after things like an AWB, magazine capacity limits, registration, and for that idiot in NY to even mention the C word, confiscation. Add to that the fact that the recommendations panel was an obvious sham meant to steer peoples attention away from the fact that they were pulling old legislation out of a drawer.
So, instead of actively engaging the gun community in developing practical and workable solutions to societal problems without infringing on people's rights, they have shot themselves in the proverbial foot, mustered the political militia against them, and caused gun sales to skyrocket. As the old saying goes, "smooth move, ex-lax".
They are working the PR system to their advantage, if we are not careful it will work against us. The people between the anti gun and pro gun are the ones we need to focus on. Somehow they need to learn that the 2nd amendment is not about hunting. Those are the same people that obama is working on, we just need to do a better job then we have been. He is working on trying to divide the gun owners and use that to his advantage. The old divide and conquer method, unfortunately that method does work.
The Dems are floating all this terrible stuff, planning to compromise on "closing the Gun Show Loophole" with 100% Background checks. In order to do that, they must have universal registration. Once they have Universal Registration then they can go back & push for confiscation.
We must fight against it all - no compromise (& keep the Repubs pointed in that direction).

Obama was elected because people are too stupid to realize what they voted for, hopefully the gun owners who voted for him will open their eyes a bit.

Great positive message in many posts. I hope we could show Obama how actual Americans, people born here, reared here and know what America (USA) actually represents could educate his radical commy raised skinny butt. Obama could be his own worst enemy this time around. I watched my son wrestle his way into state championships pinning muscle rippled opponents that towered over him. After a while I learned their over confidence and arrogance was their worst weakness. My son kept his mind and heart clear and clean, he walked away a true champion in my eyes. I hope our country can survive these next four years and history is cruel to this dictator minded socialist crud. If shelves on stores are any indication a lot of Americans are mad.
The democrats have strategically gathered a constituency of people who are easily manipulated. Obama is casting shadows by saying that his gun control won't affect hunting. He lies between the lines. The zombies will now believe that the constitution only protects hunting.
First we dumbed everybody down. Now we make them feel good. Soon they will do whatever we want. Can I buy you a drink? You're kinda cute. Wanna come back to my place?
Doh!
