Just look at New Jersey, for crying out loud. They ban civilian use of hollow points for the same stupid and untrue reason. You can't even possess them.
Boy I hope not, I view them as a safety vessel to the reduce the amount of over penetration. I live in suburbia there is virtually no direction I could fire with out going into someone else's home. For the most part the round will need to go through a dry wall and then a cinder block wall before it gets to one of my neighbors houses. I am no ballistics expert but I would hope that a hollow point would reach my neighbors wall with substantially less energy than a FMJ round.

Get caught with a single hollow point bullet in your car and you're going straight to jail. Even if you don't have a gun in the car.

To say, you can go ahead and ban those "evil" cop killing armor piercing bullets since I don't have a use for them, even though you know it's a bogus argument to begin with is just about the same thing as sleeping with the enemy.

To think that they won't eventually get around to banning the bullets you do use, is naive in the extreme.
Hollow points are legal in NJ. You can transport them, you can shoot them at the range.

Lucky for me, Bama is a LONG way from Jersey.
As Benjamin Franklin left the hall in Philadelphia, he was asked, “What kind of government have you given us, Dr. Franklin?” He replied: “A republic, if you can keep it.”

That's a dangerous way to approach the impeding assault on 2A. Just because one or more of the weapons or ammunition being discussed doesn't affect you, doesn't mean you should just acquiesce to the Constitution trampling Obama administration. Your interests may not be at risk this go round, but if they get any bans this time, they will not stop. Next time they will want even more - its a slippery slope.

BTW I don't have any need for armor piercing bullets, but I do need hollow points, and they're next.

"Armor piercing" is subjective as pointed out in the article.

A 30.06 round will "pierce armor" if the armor is kevlar....

No more regulations on anything. Period. We have enough unenforced laws now.

Secure schools.. End gun free zones.
    Rats!
    It could be worse!
    I suppose

They're pulling out all the stops. Buzzwords, fear mongering, photo ops with kids and cops, and the oldest trick in the political book: Lies. It's a shame that people actually fall for this crapola.

They call them cop killers so people think its a bad thing. Once they gain a foothold with one type of ammo, the rest will follow. Give them nothing!

Will the cops and government officials get to keep their cop killer bullets?
There is a solution but we are not Jedi... not yet.

The police and and government do not have cop killer bullets. They carry civilian killers, and yes they will always have them.

I wasn't aware of a brand of ammo called "Cop Killer." They certainly don't stock it at my local sporting goods store.
