There are a growing number of sheriffs around the country who are vowing to not enforce any new gun control measures. Good to see.

    Glad to see it

This makes me a proud Floridian (via Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina...which were pretty good places too).

It's refreshing to see leadership displayed by elected officials. I hope it spreads.

I wrote a letter today to the Utah Sheriff Association thanking them for their recent statements in support of the 2A. I'll be writing a similar letter to Florida Sheriff Association tomorrow. I hope many others will do so too.

Actually saw our Sheriff out today, stopped my car, got out, shook his hand and thanked him MYSELF. Kind of odd how this happened too.

I find this a welcome hypocracy. The FL Sheriffs Assoc. tried to kill every change in FL's gun laws last go round. Didn't want open carry, didn't want college campus carry, didn't want "inadvertant exposure" of CC legalized, etc.

Now it wants to stand tall for the right to bear arms? Either it finally screwed its head on straight or it feels like it has to join the trend so it doesn't look stupid to the brotherhood.

    I'm with OldVet...

I hate to squash the "gushy tingly feelings" for the Sheriff's Associations, but I believe it was the Association that helped crush the OC movement in FL just a while back.
Obviously, that wasn't the end of the world, but some of the South Florida counties are not so gun friendly...I'm just sayin'...
The fact that they support the 2A is great, so does the President and his crew...so they say. They seem to talk the talk, but will they walk the walk? We'll see.OMOYMV

There is just equity recognized by LEO's to allow upstanding law abiding citizens the ability to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their property; by legal means.

    Re: Loving the Sunshine Sheriffs

I'd be interested to see which Florida sheriffs are actually apart of the association and which ones aren't.
If you're going to carry one weapon, might as well carry two, because as the saying goes, "Two is one, and one is none."

"Liberals can decline or whine, but I will still carry and conceal mine." - Cold Warrior. Excellent quote good sir!
