Why can't the deputy sue the family for mental anguish...caused by their negligence as parents? They knew he was under house arrest...they knew he left the house. Why didn't they go looking for him themselves to keep him out of further trouble? Why did they rely on someone else to do the parenting (i.e. the courts/LE/corrections). Maybe I'm a cold, heartless B@$t@rd :scratchchin: but I do not feel one inkling of remorse for this kid's family...
Would they prefer their angel be arrested for killing an off-duty PO? How would they feel about the PO's family? The PO did his job...and did it well. This criminal will not victimize another family.
Sounds to me like the dead kid traveled through ignorant to stupid.
Sounds like the parents are predisposed to the same.
" The Deputy that shot him was trained, TRAINED! Why couldn't he just shoot him in the arm or leg?" Obviously these family members have been watching too much TV which is where most people learn all they know about firearms.
That wasn't for stealing candy...
This 'kid' was an accident looking for a place to happen.
Too bad for the deputy, I hope he can put this behind him. He did soceity a BIG favor.
I have no concerns for this little thug; he got exactly what he deserved. Society was saved the expense of further court costs and jail time.
Well done...:congrats: :congrats: :congrats:
He WASN'T just a kid.
The moment you pick up a weapon with the intent to use it as a weapon your childhood ceases. For all intensive purposes you are now an adult and should be treated as such.
This goes both ways, hence the reason the voting age in the United States is now 18 instead of 21.
FWIW, I know the Sheriff personally, and I'm sure this Deputy will get a medal, although the public will never know.
This incident occured in a "renewal" district. The shopping center is a nice coat of paint on a criminal empowerment zone. Nothing more than hood rats livin' the life, tryin' and dyin'.
I just read that the family of the BG is saying that the Deputy should have just given him the car...I'm sorry to say buy the family is just as stupid as the kid. Yeah, that makes sense to give the 13yr old kid the car so he can possibly kill some with the car too. Idiots!
A child with a gun is just as dangerous and deadly as an adult with one. He knew what he was doing, he knew it was dangerous to commit a crime, that's why he brought the gun. What he didn't know, apparently, is that criminals aren't the only ones with guns... And some of them are "trained" to use them against the people that commit crimes, juvenile or not.
Wow! That is too bad, but Charles Darwin did have a great theory and I am still trying to disprove it.
A kid can do just as much damage as an adult. I don't blame the cop for defending himself. This kid had a chance to change his ways but chose to steal a gun which he used to hijack someones car. It looks like he chose the wrong car. This was one BG who had his career ended early. Some people just cannot be helped
Hemore than earned what he got. Thank God he didn't kill some mother's decent law abiding son or daughter.
