    I wish

the WH and its current administration would put half the effort into balancing the budget, reducing the deficit and generating job growth as it has towards "reasonable" gun control measures. It simply drives me nuts that the prez had a Jobs Council with which he hasn't met in over a year, and now is disbanded, and hasn't generated skwat for job growth, yet can appoint Gaf Biden poobah of a gun violence "task force", and get this much action, useful or no, on a pet project of the Left.

I'm not sayin', I'm jes sayin'.

They have not had a budget during the first four years of HIS reign, why start now?

It makes perfect sense, actually. If the economy is headed toward a crash, the elite can't have we "lowly peons" being armed.

$376 million being spent to add an identical oval office on the opposite wing. Sadly this is not a joke.

Diversion. Hey, look at this big polarizing gun control issue I just created and you won't pay attention to all of this other stuff I'm doing (or not doing).

I agree...there are so many more serious issues to deal with worldwide. Or even better, lets forget about being the police for the world and focus our attention and money within our borders. In a country so rich, nobody should be hungry or cold. Yet we are the worlds ATM machine.

They want to be able to do something so they can have a legacy. They know dealing with the budget fiasco is a lose/lose situation for them politically. They thought that the gun control issue would be a popular one to latch onto, especially after the Newtown shooting. They thought the timing was right for a big skirmish on the issue and that they would ultimately win. They are finding out that gun control is not as popular as they had thought/hoped. Many many more people are against it than they ever imagined.
