Liability Insurance for California Gun Owners - Proposed Legislation

These idiots are absolutely unbelievable...they want law abiding people to purchase expensive liability insurance in case their inanimate objects turn them into lunatics who all of a sudden start shoot people and things...this is really ridiculous. They really need to leave us law abiding people alone and start concentrating on dealing with the criminals and the mentally ill individuals that plague our society.

I will when every dog owner has to have specialized insurance for their dogs, no matter what breed or size. And every owner of a knife, letter opener, cutlery set, BB gun, Pellet gun, sling shot, etc...I wonder if the insurance lobby is behind this push. This is crazy.

This is also another form of gun registration.

What a great idea. We should all get legal insurance too. If you are arrested, you put a legal burden on the taxpayers. Now, if you are innocent, I'm o.k. with my taxes paying for your due process. But, if you are guilty, your insurance could be used to reimburse my county for due process expenses.

What about voting insurance? If you are involved in electing a politician who, say, runs up a $16,480,000,000 debt, your insurance could cover the bill.

See, there's no end to the money we could collect from people exercising their God given rights.

Sorry for the car analogy. It just seems to fit some of the same considerations for gun liability.

You CAN be held liable for someone drowning in your pool, almost no matter how good your fence, etc is. Your homeowner's ins may or may not cover it and if they payout, they'll likely raise your rates or boot you altogether.
