Here's another important factor that I always make sure to tell people. In a lot of cases where a gun prevented a crime, no shot was fired and no one was injured. Even most criminals have enough sense to back off when there's a gun pointed at them.

So it becomes a question of, which situation is worse?

    A. A woman presents a gun and the attacker backs off, making the entire thing a non-event.

    -or-

    B. She's brutally raped and murdered because the politicians denied her 2nd Amendment rights, leaving her unprotected because she obeyed the law.

And if they try the one about, "But....but.....but the gun is more likely to harm her!," then just punch them in the mouth.

Because the first gun violence incident would be automatically attributed to the law changes you're suggesting.

The media would jump over a chance to provide "proof" in the form of wall-to-wall coverage of the incident that "proves us wrong."

I think it would be interesting to see the gun violence rates now compared to the Wild West days, to look at the difference
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

I'm not proposing any law changes. I'm proposing effective, diligent and militant enforcement of all laws currently in place.
I'm in favor of gun control -- I think every citizen should have control of a gun.

Mac, they don't want to try something that will work. Like you said,it's not about curbing violence, or public safety, those are smoke screens. They talk about taking away the rights of tens of millions of law abiding Americans, and how it would be worth it, if it saved just one life. Meanwhile they support, fund, and promote killing institutions , slaughter houses that make what Hitler did look like childs play. And they cover this up by calling it "a womens health issue" The biggest bunch of liars and hypocrites the world has ever seen.

The root problem is any gun violence is usually either a criminal act in and of itself or the direct result of a criminal act.

The use of a gun to commit a crime or to prevent a crime -- the only reason you'd use a gun to prevent a crime is in the event of potentially deadly harm, therefore just as serious as using the gun itself -- is an act so deeply profound that no law is going to prevent it.

So why not try things our way? Lets try eliminating gun free zones, armed citizens, a loosening of restrictions, and an almost militant effort to enforce laws already on the books. Let's try it our way and see what happens to gun violence.

Because obviously the agenda is not really about curbing violence or preventing crime. The agenda is about control. Pure and simple.
They will not try it our way because this whole thing is not about saving the kids, public safety or any of that.

    Its about control.
Its about taking your minds off the poor job this administration is doing on the economy.
Its about disarming citizens so they are totally dependent on the government for everything (food, housing, health, security)
It probably will not happen on the current watch, but the Progressives have been & will be planning, & working for the Looooong Term. The end goal is a Socialist/Communist Utopia. This is just one more step toward that goal.
