    Presidents and their guns

A compilation of pictures done by Outdoor Life of twelve presidents, and one wanna-be dictator with their guns or ones that they were just holding for the photo-op. Enjoy!

An interesting photo essay on the history of presidents and guns. Probably all of these pictures were the result of simple "photo ops" but it was always clear which presidents were true shooters and which one were simply pandering to the pro gun constituency.

If you ever get the chance to visits Ike's farm near Gettysburg, PA they have his shotgun on display. Ike had his own trap field on the farm.

Yeah, I recently read an article on that gun. Wasn't it given to him by NSSF or GOA or some organization like that? The article said that they waited to give it to him until after the presidency so that he would be able to keep it. I guess if the value of a gift is over a certain amount then it would have to go to the G.W.B museum...At least he got to keep such an awesome piece.

I noticed Reagan's trigger discipline was lacking

Makes one kind of suspicious when you see the pic of Kennedy shooting skeet @ Camp David, and you actually see people shooting skeet, on the range rather than a very hastily taken picture by a driveway on a very manicured lawn
