The background checks that have been discussed elsewhere are included, as well as preventing sale or transfer without an FFL. There is also some language granting the AG the ability to deny transfer of firearms, issuance of permits, etc. What also troubled me was Section 926D, Concealed firearms permits, Line C: demonstrate good cause for requesting a concealed firearm permit... In other words, you have to have a "good reason" to have a permit.

What concerned you was Section 926D?
What concerns me is the liberals are trying to sneak something in by making it seem as though it's endorsed by the NRA, when infact everything in the bill is opposed by the NRA and its members.

The whole damm thing bothers me, hence the "also" when I mentioned that little section. Where I live we just got shall issue in the last couple years. So yeah, that part got me a little. Everything else was pretty much the same old we've been hearing. The NRA "endorsement", I don't know what to say that won't get me banned.

Unless you really go 'overboard' on your comment, you should at least deserve one 'infraction warning' from the Mods before they toss you 'overboard'.
My observation lately is that the rules have changed (ever so slightly) with the current full court press on taking our 2A away from us.
My other observation is that the members (who I respect) that previously said "it will never happen, you are just making this up about the Left wanting to take away our 2A rights" are a little more quiet right now.
Just my observations.............. and Welcome to the Forum.

Well emails sent and calls to be made again to my Congressmen over this bill. If you think there is not a concerted effort to take our 2a rights even my Congressman Mitch McConnell is stating that we are "surrounded and that if they succeed they are and i quote coming for your guns. While all my reps in Congress but one vow to fight this tooth and nail I suggest a bit stronger wording to your reps concerning this assualt on our rights. I personally do not only ask they vote against a bill but continually remind them of their oath to uphold the constitution and urge that they move to repeal already unconstitutional regulations background checks licences etc that are on the books presently.
We need to without being rude ( yet) make the point that the line in the sand is drawn. That a house cleaning is looming if these things pass into law.
I was encouraged to see that some reps in my state are considering drafting legislation to stop enforcement of Federal Regs on guns. We need to keep the pressure on. Not by bleating please dont but by reminding that these officials can be voted out and they did take an oath to uphold the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

"This Act may be cited as the ‘NRA Members’ Gun Safety Act of 2013’.
TITLE I--REQUIRING A BACKGROUND CHECK FOR EVERY FIREARM SALE" ...
Hm. They fail to explain how an "NRA member" is safer by being forcibly made to engage in a background check. The implication being they ("NRA members") are unsafe without being checked on by government hirelings.
Sounds more like 'The Senate's 39th Act of 2013 To Undermine The Constitution & Show Contempt For Citizens.'

I was going to comment on aspects of the bill I just read.
I was going to use the quote bubble indicating parts that are troubling and downright frightening.
I'm not going to do that now as I found myself wearing out my mouse from over clicking.

The concept of shame is completely lost on the anti's. They will do anything and everything they can to get what they want. Some of them, misguided though they may be, actually feel this will help curb violence in America. Most of them just plain don't like guns and will do whatever they can to get rid of them. For either group, the end justifies the means.
