This is a discussion on Companies refusing LE/Govt sales....contact them now!!!! within the The Second Amendment & Gun Legislation Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; Currently on my NY board we have a thread going that is a list of companies who are supporting the second amendment by refusing sales ...
Currently on my NY board we have a thread going that is a list of companies who are supporting the second amendment by refusing sales to Govt/LE in states like NY that have restricted sales to civilians. The thread also serves as a list of companies to contact who are not yet with us. I wanted to spread the word.
Here is the link to our NY thread: NY Firearms
This will be the official list of manufacturers/distributors that are refusing LE/Govt sales in support of us regular Joe's. It will also serve as a campaign to contact manufacturers and distributors and urge them to get on board as well. If anybody finds where a new company has joined the cause, post it here and the list will be updated. We have too many separate threads on this.
Here is the list of manufacturers on board already:
Olympic Arms - Sales manager Tom firstname.lastname@example.org
Larue Tactical - 512-259-1585 (not accepting emails)
Templar Custom - Contact them via their website: Contact us
York Arms - They have a 2 week backlog of email and are basically requesting no more email.
Extreme Firepower - EFILLC@frontier.com
Cheaper than Dirt
West Fork Armory - contact via web site https://www.westforkarmory.com/contact-us
Smith Enterprises - email@example.com
Contact them and thank them
Here is a list of manufacturers and distributors to contact and urge them to get on board.
These companies do not have a public email and you must contact them via their web site:

DPMS - contact via website: https://www.dpmsinc.com/crm.asp?action=contactus

Brownells - contact via website Brownells Contact Information | World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools - BROWNELLS

These companies do have email, I have listed the emails below in a group that is easy cut and paste to your email:
Amchar (NY distributor to most LE agencies. Everything from guns to vests to ammo)
Smith & Wesson
These companies I could only find phone numbers for:
Colt - 1-800-241-2485
Winchester - 1-800-333-3288
Bushmaster - LE/govt sales 1-800-998-7928
Kimber - 1-888-243-4522
We also apparently have at least one manufacturer who is not on board:
This was the reply from Pat Raley of Armalite:and this was my reply:Dear concerned gun owner,
First of all I would like to say thank you for filling my email with all this spam email.
Second, I am not sure where you got this blanket email from to send out as spam, but please stop it.
Third, The manufacture is not the one you need to convince. You need to convince the law enforcement agencies and the common people about their mistake in electing these officials and have them removed. Again NOT the manufacture.

Geneseo, IL. 61254This was not a "spam" email first of all. This is a concerted effort by gun owners in states like NY to get companies and manufacturers of firearms to support the second amendment when politicians have failed us. Currently the following companies are already on board:
Cheaper Than Dirt
West Fork Armory
Many others have been contacted as well. Rock River Arms, who supplies the NY State Police with their patrol rifles has already issued a statement and they are working with their legal team to come up with a way to get behind this effort as well. It's time the firearms community take a tally on what companies are with us and what companies aren't. Your email leaves no doubt where Armalite stands. I will help you get the word out, Armalite is not with us.
Good research on this. Thanks for the info.

Well we got a reply back:When we got flooded with over 200 of the same email that we had to clean out in order to actually work, it gets rather annoying.
Take it however you would like though. We already support the proper channels and will continue too.

In Pat's defense, 100 unsolicited emails in a morning certainly qualifies as spam. I can see where that would be obnoxious and help generate a cranky reply from a business owner.
Well in all fairness they probably wouldn't be as cranky if someone placed a 100 orders. It is a business
A good number of the people that contacted them own Armalite rifles. I can tell you after this they won't be buying another. Many other companies were contacted as well and we received polite professional replies from them. Rock River Arms for example.
Well I guess he is saying it's not his problem unless it's effecting his bottom line. I'm reminded of this old adage from Martin Niemöller:First they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.
”Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security.”
I'm sure orders are processed differently by their email system.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be on board, or that Pat's a good or bad businessman. I'm just saying I think 200+ unsolicited (orders, btw, are solicited) identical email in an evening would fall under the heading "spam". And I can see a business owner getting cranky over it.
That said, I do like the idea of NY's legislators discovering consequences they hadn't considered.
Well the same people that sent armalite a email needs to send them another:
I will choose Olympic arms....etc over armalite

I dunno how many of you have heard already but Armalite has really taken a beating over this. They have even removed their facebook because it was getting blown up. I posted this story on AR15.com and some other NY members posted it else where and the reaction has been tremendous.
Here is the thread on AR15:
Armalite Presidents response
You can read the backlash from that for yourself. This was his statement that was supposed to clarify the companies official position:I think a bit of clarification is in order.
The root of the matter is a HUGE series of inquiries by both email and telephone asking ArmaLite to cut off sales to New York and other states which deny its citizens the right to own our rifles, as several other firms have done. Some of the contacts have been duplicates of others and some were so redundant that they appeared to be spam. Many of them have been rude and I'm afraid one of my staffers thought that he was responding to a spammer and was more terse than he should have been. Once he realized what happened he came to me and apologized.
My purpose here is to pass on his apology from the corporate level and to answer the initial question: What is ArmaLite going to do?
ArmaLite is continuing a policy put into place when California first banned our rifles. That policy remains:
1. We will not sell to those states which deny it's honorable citizens the right to own ArmaLite's.
2. We do not halt sales to individual officers even in problematic states. I am a former Police Officer myself, and the staffer who stimulated the recent anger is a currently serving one. We are well familiar with the fact that most rifles serving Police Officers are purchased by the officers themselves, and that they shouldn't be punished for the actions of their political elite.
We consider sales to those sate subdivisions which are not engaged or potentially engaged with disarming its citizens. DNR and Forestry Departments, for instance, sometimes serve in remote areas that conceal drug farms and their officers deserve good hardware.
3. We will not sell to those lower political subdivisions that deny their honorable citizens the right to own ArmaLite's. Chicago, for instance, prohibits its citizens from owning ArmaLite's within the city limits so we make no effort to sell into that city. We have many friends on the Chicago Police Department and have continued to sell to them individually.
Our observation is that most County Sheriffs disagree with banning sales of our rifles and many publicly refuse to enforce such laws. We sell to those departments and to their Deputies, but will not sell to those County departments headed by Sheriffs who would deny their citizens the same rights.
In short, Americans need not worry that ArmaLite is selling to those who betray them.
As you can see by reading posts on the topic, some readers have been harsh with their criticism of ArmaLite. It was in response to this atmosphere that my staffer reacted harshly. He's come to me and apologized and I personally am passing my own apology along with his.
But don't be mistaken, ArmaLite is strongly involved with both personal, corporate, and political efforts at the State, National, and International level to protect our civil rights. And we'll continue to support your shooting needs as the situation moves forward.
There was also this thread which started off as people not believing the story but by the end were ready for a lynch mob:
That response is still full of it. LEO's in those states/counties are still citizens and if any exception is made the statement doesn't get heard b/c the people with the most clout are not personally affected.
I will book mark all of these company web sites for future purchases.

Glad I didn't buy an Armalite and never will. The president of Armalite is like many other Ceos, will sell their soul for a dollar. The only way can make him listen is for all of us in the private sector to never buy from him. LE sales will not support his current business as it is. We need to send a very clear message. Plenty of other manufactures out there. We don't NEED Armalite, but they need US! We need to drive the message home! Are we all talk or are we ACTUALLY going to ACT? VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLAR!
I thought they should have already stopped sales to the states wanting to dictate what products they can sell. Banning sales of their products is like slitting the gun companies throats among the other obvious threats to citizens rights.
