Lists will never be used "inappropriately"...

Here is a good example of a counter-argument to those people who say that lists of guns/gun buyers/whatever, will never be used "inappropriately":

"Despite promises of anonymity for those who participate in the city of Santa Fe's gun buying program, the city released a list of dozens of people..."

City releases names of gun sellers who were promised anonymity ? including Egolf's - The Santa Fe New Mexican

Perfect, publish a list of peoples names, addresses and type of firearm they turned in so all the BG's know where the unarmed live. Oh wait, can BG's read?

It wouldn't bother me if all the Democrats that vote for this crap have their name published.

I think all States keep "lists". They say they don't but I am not buying it.
When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

There is a sea of information out there on all of us... And sometimes the idiots in charge of it let it slip out... Which is a shame... but publishing a list of names in a gun buyback program...

Here's the problem, though, as I see it... It is a municipal buy back... the city paid the funds for each weapon... In this state, at least, and probably every other, the city LEGALLY MUST publish the names of people it has paid for services, or owes money to. It is part of the accountability/transparency we demand...

The only way around it is that they could have listed say
$10,000.00 ___ gun buy back program___ paid to SantaFe Bank and Trust

That way it stays anonymous. But now, once those funds are exhausted...It has to list each Creditor...and each creditor is a gun seller... So, the remaining funds cannot be anonymous... Because there must be accountability in every transaction...

Once they were out of gift cards, they should have said NO Mas.
    Rats!
    It could be worse!
    I suppose
