My Comments: Go figure. San FranFreakShow of all places? They were already 'shot' down on this same tract concerning actual 'gun ownership in the home' by the courts several years ago, before Heller. Now they are attacking Ammo - Doh! Good luck! At least on the up side they are finally trying to get rid of Public Nudity.....'ugly public nudity, not the good kind'.
.......A San Francisco Board of Supervisors committee today approved two pieces of legislation targeting the sale and possession of certain ammunition in the city.
.......The ordinances would make certain military-grade ammunition illegal to possess in San Francisco and require businesses to notify police when someone buys 500 rounds or more of ammunition in a single transaction. My Comments: ROFLMAO... So it is a pitiful attempt to say, "hey we did something"
My Comments: And then it gets even more stupider! (hey, they elect these clowns - not to mention that State Congressman Yee of 'Bullet Button' fame is from SF)
.......The ammunition that would be illegal to possess in San Francisco are hollow-point bullets (you know, those Military Grade Hollow Points) with barbs that inflict more damage in a shooting victim.
"These barbs cause significant damage to internal organs ... and make surgical repair effectively impossible," said Jason Elliott from the mayor's office. Violators would face up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
.......Police Capt. Denis O'Leary said the Police Department supports the ban on the military-grade ammunition, which is already illegal to sell in the city. (WHAT? Military Grade Ammo? The Military does not use Hollow Point ammo, only Homeland Security does. And, and, it is alrealdy Illegal in the City? Then why pass a law against something that is already Illegal? Oh, yeah, right, this is a City run by Progressive Leftists Idiots.) Supervisor David Campos called the ordinances "a very measured approach to the rising problem of having too many guns on the streets" and thought the city was "on strong legal footing" if opponents potentially file lawsuits over the constitutionality of the legislation.
My Comments: These idiots cannot afford another high $$ lawsuit..........Read the rest of the 'Democracy (ROFLMAO) being practiced in SF'.
Make sure you read the last paragraph of this, um, article.
SF Takes Up New, Stricter Gun Control Measure | NBC Bay Area
Nothing San Francisco does surprises me.
All I can say is.............. there are pictures on the internet............ it will shock you and you will know why San Francisco, CA is the exact definition of why the USA will fail...............if they are allowed out of the cage of the Bay Area. Oh, yeah, right, they already infest our federal govt.
They probably think it would be much better to have pointed, full metal jacketed bullets that could pass through the intended target, and maybe about 2-3 additional innocent bystanders. That way it makes things more fair; some non-criminals would get shot as well as the criminal. Wouldn't want to discriminate ...
Sure, nobody should care that the police chief knows they bought ammunition if they aren't criminals
The stupidity of some people NEVER ceases to amaze me.
They will ban hollow points because they are Military bullets that "tear people up". Then the only thing will be FMJ. They will then decide that FMJ are "cop killer bullets" since they penetrate right through their targets & ban them. Voila, all ammo is banned. Nice & neat.
Ten Bears: It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men.
i grew up in SF. as a kid, i couldn't even have a BB gun there (against the law).
a few years ago, SF residents actually VOTED to ban handguns (was overturned by the courts).
i now happily live in a "shall issue" state, whose State Constitution guarantees the INDIVIDUAL'S right to own firearms.
And thats the way it is when it has Mo Larry and Curly are running the city
"Barbs"? Do they mean like the old Black Talon, or what? The ammunition that would be illegal to possess in San Francisco are hollow-point bullets with barbs that inflict more damage in a shooting victim.
And since when is hollow-point "military grade"?
It's a shame. Such legendary stupidity. I was once stationed there, and really miss the geography and the sights.
They've made it illegal for me ever to return. It's like losing a part of our nation.
