What a concept - use what you've got instead of creating new ones.

I think it's pretty incredible that it took so long for anyone in "the government" to realize stringent laws already existed.

Good to see the House Judiciary Committee putting its foot down. Of course, that committee isn't the only one, and I'm not sure an end-around couldn't be engineered to simply get the gun-grabbing bills referred (or transferred) to a different committee that's more amenable to destruction of the Constitution. Although, it is nice to know that three of its "top" areas of interest for referral of bills to this committee are: Civil liberties, Constitutional amendments, and Criminal law enforcement. Even if the sub-committee in question has 5 (of 12) members sponsoring the AWB (HB 437).

On the Senate side of the Congress, it's worth noting that the Senate Judiciary Committee is where a number of gun-grabbing bills have been referred. It has as one of its members the preeminent wolf-in-wolf's-clothing D. Feinstein.

FYI: According to PopVox.com, there are 45 newly-introduced, firearms-related bills in the Congress.

    Outstanding!!!!!

Too bad the mainstream media will refuse to make these letters and facts known to the general public.

We should ALL post these letters on MyFace, e-mail them to your contacts, print copies and post them on every community board you can find.

What i'm wondering is,whatever they decide to try to pass something or not, when will something be decided?
Only when they have a high level of certainty of passage, or complete failure. A lot of calculus goes into these decisions. For example, a spending bill was recently passed with a vote of 92 to 8. The Honorable Senator M. Bennet voted against it. He is from a state that does not like stupid spending, so his vote, while on the correct side (no spending) didn't matter. He can now claim he voted against the bill. To the contrary, Reid might push a bill to a vote even though defeat is a certainty, to placate supporters of the bill and to allow those that might have otherwise supported a bill to vote against it so they can claim to listen to their state constituents.

    Clear as mud, right?

Remember: Nothing is voted on in the Senate until Reid wants a vote, and nothing moves to a vote until he has the results he wants already tallied. The House is harder, with 435 Reps all representing their Districts. Balance of Power.

With pro 2A citizens and political pundits crying out for enforcement of existing laws before any new laws are even considered, it's nice to finally see some of our elected officials taking this stand. It's about time!
