As we well know, it never was about that, despite the euphemism being bandied about by the purveyors of the Draconian statutes.
It's about control over citizens, wresting the last vestiges of control over their own lives, by criminalizing everything. Bend over and pucker up, spanky, the government's callin'.
One would think the simple prohibitions against our government enacting cruel and unusual punishments and equal protection under the law would be enough. But that would take judges who could do so, and enough citizens with the brass to stand up to tyranny. It's been long decades since we've had either one of those in plenty. And the tyrannical few know it, all too well.
Your best weapon is your brain. Don't leave home without it.

All my friends are buying in Cape Coral/Ft Myers, that's an option.... but I am thinking a little further north closer to pan handle. Brother and sister in law in AZ...decisions, decisions

My nephew in law is flipping out over NY's new "safe law"!
I told him that he can store his AR15 and multiple Glock's at my place until the dust settles!

People tell me how great NY is and I tell them I visited New York many years ago, and since I left nothing behind, there is no reason to return.
